I've often seen individuals and groups try and portray the German NAZI Party of Adolf Hitler, as a socialist - meaning, left wing party.Nothing could be further from the truth when facts are checked (there we go with that damn fact checking ).

So here we start with an entry over at Wikipedia:

Adolf Hitler's rise to power began in the newly established Weimar Republic in September 1919 when Hitler joined the Deutsche Arbeiterpartei (DAP; German Workers' Party). He rose to a place of prominence in the early years of the party. Being one of its most popular speakers, he was made the party leader after he threatened to otherwise leave.

In 1920, the DAP renamed itself to the Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei – NSDAP (National Socialist German Workers' Party, commonly known as the Nazi Party). Hitler chose this name to win over left-wing German workers.[1][2] Despite the NSDAP being a right-wing party, it had many anti-capitalist and anti-bourgeois elements. Hitler later initiated a purge of these elements and reaffirmed the Nazi Party's pro-business stance. By 1922 Hitler's control over the party was unchallenged.

I happened to be reading up on British emigration into British America, and somehow this led to here.

go figure

One more Wikipedia entry:

Hitler, armed with his newfound celebrity, began furiously campaigning. During the 1920s, Hitler and the Nazis ran on a platform consisting of anti-communism, antisemitism, and ultranationalism. Nazi party leaders vociferously criticized the ruling democratic government and the Treaty of Versailles, while proselytizing their desire to turn Germany into a world power. At this time, most Germans were indifferent to Hitler's rhetoric as the German economy was beginning to recover in large part due to loans from the United States under the Dawes Plan.

The socialist thing is a peculiarly American retard belief. He spent his miserable life fighting the left.

Hitler went after Communists and Socialists. Put them into camps and to detah.

There is a grand canyon between what he might have said and what he actually did.
Gregor Strasser

Back in January 2016, conservative web site Louder with Crowder dipped its toes into the world of fact-checking with an article ("MYTH BUSTED: Actually, Yes, Hitler Was a Socialist Liberal") that makes the claim that "leftists" have unfairly rewritten history to paint Hitler as right wing, based in part on the fact that the Nazi party had the word "socialist" in its name.

Perhaps ironically, that article opens with a tidbit of literally rewritten history, misattributing a quote by Nazi party member Gregor Strasser to Adolf Hitler

He was a leftist and did things a socialist would. He basically created his own version of socialism.
Took over the unions.
Took over and regulated the private sector.
Capped the dividends of shareholders of corporations.
Etc
Hitler was against marxism because it didnt value the individual. Also, because it was based on classism, and not race.
Not really sure why it actually matters. Tyranny is tyranny.

The only real difference between communism and fascism is that fascism still allows private property ownership, even if it is regulated to death.

Fascism also tends to be far more "single leader" then Communism, although you do get the occasional Stalin, Pol Pot, and Mao overtaking the usually collectivist nature of running things seen in Communism.
