Who cares? Are we going to start killing people for stating an opinion that some don't like.

Go smoke a bowl and chill wackadoodleWho cares? Are we going to start killing people for stating an opinion that some don't like.
Chill while our freedom of speech is destroyed? Is that really a good idea.
I don't see any freedom of speech being destroyed. I did see a really dumb quote supposedly from the team owner. But like I said before, BASKETBALL is a dumb sport and I really don't care. I'd rather watch paint dry than watch that shit.Chill while our freedom of speech is destroyed? Is that really a good idea.

I've been called racist regularly so ya better get in line.I don't see any freedom of speech being destroyed. I did see a really dumb quote supposedly from the team owner. Not liking the NBA is racist.

I hear there's hooters girls back there serving wings but the line is so long I can't be sure.

I was kidding.
Yes I got called a racist the other day b/c I posted that if black women were smart they'd stay away from black men.
No, PC to a whole new level is a mayor berating someone for not standing for the pledge and then having the person escorted out by the cops..
This appears to be an actual story:
Bruce Levenson will sell Atlanta Hawks after releasing racist e-mail
This team owner turned himself in for writing a "racist" email in 2012, and he is punishing himself by making himself sell his team.
I am not making this up.
.
This guy is probably trying to stir up controversy to make a buck.
Your welcome.
I've seen a couple of articles now where this guy's motives are coming under question.
Starting to look like he may be trying to leverage PC for his own gain.
Excellent. The tactic of PC is becoming more and more diluted and trivialized every day.
Pretty soon they'll have to actually engage in conversation rather than resort to intimidation and "consequences".
.
"Making himself sell his own team" does sound a bit bipolar...
I mean what if he argues and talks himself out of it? Who won?
Skimming through the e-mail he's worried about I don't see anything offensive. He's not even talking about race; he's talking about cultures and demographics and marketing. So what?
There's a silent backstory here - somebody in the org is making a little power play.
I think he should sit himself down and reconsider and maybe convince himself that he's full of shit.
Let's hope it doesn't come to fisticuffs. That might challenge the laws of physics. Or generate some new challenges in the field of sports injuries.
Maybe he'll show himself some mercy and just issue a three-game suspension.
.
This is what the NBA has came to.
Ten years ago? A black player chokes his coach into unconsciousness while calling him a stupid cracker, nothing said.
Today, white man writes the word BLACK in an email and decides he better sell his stake in the team before someone goes after him for racism.
Ridiculous.
Yup. America, 2014.
As ridiculous as things are, I have to admit, this one surprised me.

Everyone should stop being mean to the nice racists, shut up, ignore the racism, pretend like racism doesn't exist, and keep your opinion to yourself.
Got news for you: it isn't going to happen – private citizens are at liberty in the context of private society to denounce, call for boycotts, or demand resignations of other private citizens whose statements or actions they find offensive or objectionable – and the wonderful thing is this process works perfectly without getting government or the courts involved.
Otherwise, your contempt for a free, open, and democratic society is noted.

One of the more annoying dishonest behaviors of hardcore partisan ideologues is the way they love to be obtuse.
As you know - and you do know, because you respond like Pavlov's dog to anything I say about PC - there is a clear and significant difference between responding to "offensive" (ha ha) comments and levying "consequences" for them. And, as usual, you lie and say that I want to pretend that racism doesn't exist. But lying is okay for you.
What I want is open conversation about these issues so that we (yes, believe it or not, you and I are on the same side on many of these issues) can change hearts and minds. But you're not interested in open conversation, because you choose to intimidate by issuing "consequences". You're a coward who doesn't want to get his hands dirty by engaging in honest, challenging conversation, the standard behavior of what I call the PC Police.
Your blatant, partisan ideology-driven dishonesty is becoming tedious. You're not trying to fix or improve a thing.
