How come there are over 40,000 christian denominations and more invented daily

They are atheists pretending to be Christians.
It's been my experience that most atheists care about truth. They appreciate information, and take time to verify its veracity. They can define the words they use. They can disagree without being insulting to person or a belief. This is because they have confidence in what they believe, and confidence that their perspective is equally as valid.

In my experience, people who are shaky about their own beliefs mistakenly believe they can shore up their own opinions by attacking others. The immaturity of belief (or non-belief) cannot be mistaken.
Not militant atheists. They condemn respect for anyone who believes in God.
Satan believes in God.

What are the differences between graven images and art work? Also, do you take note of the differences between honoring, veneration, and worship? For example, do you consider honoring an athlete different from worshiping God?
They are atheists pretending to be Christians.
Let's examine that statement. Shall we? According to Scripture, God is the only one who can say whether someone is a Christian or not. Now, are you trying to usurp the authority of our Creator? Sure looks that way to me. Such hubris.
That's what the catholic cult does. They determine who goes to heaven and who becomes saints.
It's all about power and control with that cult.
Do you mean as opposed to your religion of atheism?

1. Their religion is socialism which worships big government and social policy
2. It is based on atheism and deification of man.
3. It proceeds in almost all its manifestations from the assumption that the basic principles guiding the life of an individual and of mankind in general do not go beyond the satisfaction of material needs or primitive instincts.
4. They have no distinction between good and evil, no morality or any other kind of value, save pleasure.
5. Its doctrine is abolition of private property, abolition of family, abolition of religion and communality or equality.
6. The religious nature of socialism explains the extraordinary attraction to socialist doctrines and its capacity to inflame individuals and inspire popular movements.
7. They condemn respect for any who believes in Christianity.
8. It's hostility towards traditional religions is that of an animosity between a rival religion
9. It worships science but are the first to argue against it.
10. They practice moral relativity, indiscriminate indiscriminateness, multiculturalism, cultural marxism and normalization of deviance.
11. They can be identified by an external locus of control. It's like an invisible cross
I'm pretty sure going against the word of God is evil. What do you think?
Evil is the absence of good. Typically people don't do evil for evil's sake, they do evil for the sake of their own good, then they rationalize that they didn't do evil. But no matter what they don't abandon the concept of good and evil and their belief that they are good. You two bozo's may be the exception.

You don't believe in either, atheist.

Not militant atheists. They condemn respect for anyone who believes in God.

Thanks. I'll keep that in mind because it is true the atheists I know are not militant at all.
I know. They aren't all militant. You can spot the militant ones because they condemn respect for anyone who believes in God and are especially hateful towards Christians. They literally have elevated atheism to a rival religion.

You have a need to elevate atheism to a religion, why?

Usually, at this point I'd ask the person to prove their claim, but I know that that's not something you do. So go for it, what's one more delusion anyways?

The Center for the Study of Global Christianity at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary estimated 34,000 denominations in 2000, rising to an estimated 43,000 in 2012. These numbers have exploded from 1,600 in the year 1900.

so which one is the one "true" church?
The answer is quite simple. There are many who do not want the truth. So they make stuff up. The confusion is not with Scripture. The reason there are so many denominations is because of the hardness of the human heart.
I think the answer is more temporate. I harken to the Second Great Awakening and the emergence of new denominations through that revivaL

The renewed fervor to make relationships with the Creator more direct and personal prompted the formation of a more diverse array of assemblies, each new sect and subsect tailoring its ministry to facilitate the more diverse spiritual needs and desires of their individual congregants. The Presbyterian Church was no longer just the Presbyterian Church. People could now join the New School Presbyterians or the Cumberland Presbyterians, the Springfield Presbyterians, the Reformed Presbyterians, or the Associated Presbyterians. The Baptists were no longer just Baptists, but General Baptists, Regular Baptists, Free Will Baptists, Separate Baptists, and Two-Seed-in-the-Spirit Baptists.

A proliferation of sects doesn't mean that they all diverge from the Scriptures, but perhaps rather just speaks of their particular refinements and emphases. Baptists, for example, place more emphasis on baptism by submersion than other sects do.

I was simply wondering who you were replying too. Looked like a non sequitur to me. And who is St, Snodgrass? Never heard of him.

You have a need to elevate atheism to a religion, why?

Isn't atheism as a religion promoted by some atheists? My understanding is that they should be viewed as a legitimate religion because they have a belief system (even if it is non-belief) about God. (i.e., reasons not to believe in God). I know little about it. What's your opinion on labeling atheism as a religion?

lol, don't you mean you know that I have already done it? Here's why it is a religion.

A religion is the belief in something supernatural. So no atheism can't be a religion.

I believe because they have a "moral" code, they have a doctrine and they behave adversarial to rival religions. This was all brought out in the Socialist Phenomenon 30 something years ago.

That's not true. You have a common "moral" code, doctrines and behave belligerently to rival religions. But hey, I couldn't give a rats ass about convincing you.

A religion is the belief in something supernatural. So no atheism can't be a religion.

My own assessment is that religion includes love of--or at least worship of--a Supreme Being. That seems to eliminate atheism as a religion, but I understand it can be an equally strong belief.

Never fear, you both can be born again tomorrow. Since your both taking a break.
I'm not so sure about you either sweetheart. You played a nice little role in all of this crap.

Me what did I do?
Ok, to provide more info, I have it narrowed down to you are an atheist plant whose mission is to erode Catholic beliefs or possibly the worst darn Catholic I have ever seen. And BTW, I'm not a good Catholic by any stretch of the imagination. So that is saying something.
