The price of gas at the pump was low when Trump was President and high now that Potatohead is President. (Along with many other things)

Americans like low prices at the pump. That means more spendable income for other things.

So this is how it will play out.

The GOP will make gains, just like they did in 1994 and 2010.

Biden will easily win re-election because when all the people who sit out midterms bother to vote, they will look at the racist, misogynist nuttiness and say, "no thanks".

No, I think it just shows the flaws of having a midterm in the middle of a presidency. The problem is most people don't vote in midterms, most congressional districts aren't drawn to be competitive... So both parties, but most the Republicans, tend to interpret doing well as an endorsement.

Again, I full expect to see the same pattern we saw in 1994 and 2010. Republicans get in because the voters have the memory of a Goldfish, then they are quickly reminded, "Oh, yeah, THAT'S why we voted you out... you're fucking nuts!"

We have a special point in time here, where fully 60% of the voting populace wants these people out of power YESTERDAY! All we have to do to make this come to fruition is make 2022 about their governance and policy, and insure in no way can they somehow manage to make it about Trump!

Do that, and life will be golden; at least temporarily! We will have not only put our proverbial finger in the political dike, but also managed to get a few buckets to throw water back on the other side
