How much longer will political "news" or "stories" be trustworthy with the advent of Deep Fake technology?

I saw some videos of Joe Rogan and a couple others the other day that were all fake. Had I not known in advance they were fake I would have considered them and the message conveyed as real.

This situation lends itself to the belief in or against ANY news story being a conspiracy theory.

We are RAPIDLY approaching uncharted waters that without being properly prepared are going to be a huge mess to navigate.

Congress spends so much time passing pointless laws and regulations while technology is preparing to pass them by. From concerns over AI to the need for better libel laws and better regulatory oversight of what I consider our modern public square, social media.

Reality starts in what we experience. Then it breaks down from there into variations and variables depending on where and how we live. Then any interfering or avoidance from those empowered becomes tantamount to our happiness or lack of it. It is far more than red or blue. We generalize ways due to convenience over being specific which is more intensive and time consuming for the empowered as potential oppressors.

Since only 5 or 6 multinational conglomerates control over 90% of the media in this country that assumption is dead wrong.
