Is railroad transportation really safe, and should we really be relying on rail transport as libs seem to insist?

The facts would indicate not.

Tremendous fire after a derailment in the tremendous Eastern Ohio city of East Palestine.

Given the number of miles traversed by freight trains yearly I would suspect that they are the safest mode of transport for bulk hazmat materials....Try putting that much on our roads and see what happens.....Go chicken little someplace else.

Sure .. for the last 50 years, there have been an average of 1.5 wrecks per year causing fatalities, it makes up roughly 28% of freight shipments and is the most fuel efficient option available -- 500 miles per gallon for moving 1 ton of weight.

Officials in northeastern Ohio are urging people who have not already evacuated the area to do so now after a train derailed in the state, leading to fears of a potential explosion.

Residents were warned of "the potential of a catastrophic tanker failure" after a "drastic temperature change" was discovered in the rail car, Ohio GOP Gov. Mike DeWine’s office said in a statement, adding that teams were working to prevent an explosion at the scene in the village of East Palestine.

Everyone within a 1-mile radius of the scene was advised to leave immediately. Many had already left the area, but local officials said more than 500 residents had opted to stay put as of Sunday night.

Federal investigators announced earlier on Sunday that a mechanical issue with a rail car axle caused the derailment Friday night near the Ohio-Pennsylvania border. -FOX

It's now a forced evac with folks with kids being threatened with child endangerment if they don't leave.

This has been on the news for days? A week or more? It had been on the news daily so I'm not sure of any media black out.

There should be laws against transporting dangerous chemicals on these old trains.

Oh, wait! The Obama administration had rules in place, but the railroads paid Republicans $6Million in 2016, so Donald Trump reversed it.

The fag mayor fails again and you folks blame Trump. This is the Sec. Of Transportation's responsibility.

The people have went home and one reporter was arrested and that was at the end of a press conference where many reporters were at.

A train derails 2 years after Trump leaves office and it's somehow his fault because some people got paid BEFORE he was even president.

You really gotta be pretty fucking stupid to come up with shit like this. But then we're talking about you, you've never let us down on stupidity.
