Devon Archer, long time Hunter Biden associate, testified. He described that Hunter sold the 'illusion of access', but, in fact, no access was ever given. That's it, and, as Rep Dan Goldman states, (see video, below) there is no proof that Joe Biden was involved with Hunter Biden's deals.

None.

Did Hunter Biden leverage the Biden name for personal gain? Yes, but that isn't uncommon for siblings of famous people, and Hunter admitted it and is not illegal.

Did Hunter commit a FARA violation? Perhaps, but that doesn't prove any wrongdoing on Joe Biden.

Did Hunter Biden lie on a gun background check application? Yes, but that doesn't prove any wrongdoing on Joe Biden.

In fact, there is no proof of Joe Biden corruption, nor even for Hunter, for that matter. A few process violations, and that is it. Have fun prosecuting the son of a US President, who, on a rebound from the death of his brother,. made some bad choices. I doubt that a jury would convict. You see,. folks, this is why US Attorney David Weiss, after five years of investigating Hunter Biden, hasn't brought charges, he doesn't think he can win in court. That doesn't have anything to do with 'sweetheart' treatment, it's called 'prosecutorial discretion.

And, for that matter, name one private citizen who never held office who was assigned a special prosecutor for a 5 year investigation whose name wasn't Hunter Biden?

That doesn't sound like the 'sweetheart' treatment, to me.

A former Hunter Biden associate told Congress that Hunter sold "the illusion of access" by putting his father on speaker phone with business partners, but that then-Vice President Biden never talked shop, according to Rep. Dan Goldman (D-N.Y.) and a source familiar with the testimony.

Why it matters: Top Republicans called for an impeachment inquiry into President Biden ahead of Devon Archer's closed-door testimony Monday — and suggested that he boosted their case — while Democrats said there was no smoking gun tying Biden to his son's business entanglements.

Zoom in: Archer, who was convicted of fraud in 2018, testified that Hunter put his father on the phone with friends and business associates roughly 20 times over 10 years.

  • But Archer "repeated over and over and over again that President Biden never discussed any business dealings or interests with Hunter or anyone else," Goldman told reporters after the hours-long transcribed interview.
  • Republicans cast doubt on the claim that Biden simply exchanged "niceties" during the phone calls. They also focused on Archer's testimony that embattled Ukrainian gas company Burisma wanted Hunter on its board for his family's "brand."
The intrigue: Archer testified that he knew nothing about the alleged $5 million bribes paid to the Biden family from a Burisma executive, as was claimed in an unverified FBI document touted and released by Republicans, according to one source familiar.

Rep Dan Goldman: "This is a fishing expedition". Now, if you are going to doubt his claim, understand that he is a former prosecutor, knows something about 'evidence' and knows that Archer's testimony, taken under oath, was transcribed and now in the Congressional Record, so he's not going to lie about what Archer said. Anyway, the transcripts will be available soon.

Ohhh, it was just an "illusion". Could someone explain why corrupt nations would pay millions for "illusions"?

"Tell the Chairman that the Biden's are the best at doing what he wants" - Apparently the former Chinese intelligence officer likes magic tricks and he is a complete idiot?

The real illusion of access is your relationship with Congress.

Except that Joe was on the calls 20 times.

Confirmed by three independent witnesses.

Twenty times. That's access.

lmao :lmao:

Moron, how many times are you going to post that bullshit?

How many times does it need to be explained to you that access to politicians has always been completely legal and anyone making large enough campaign donation can buy as much as they want?

How many times does it need to be explained that politician being on a call is not a crime make?

How many times does it need to be explained that for there to be a crime there has to be a corrupt official act commited?

How many times moron?

History is replete with men chasing illusions

  1. The South Sea Bubble (1720): In the early 18th century, the South Sea Company was established in Britain with the promise of lucrative trade opportunities in the South Seas and the Americas. The company's stock value soared as investors bought into the idea of huge profits from overseas ventures. However, the company's ventures were largely illusory, and the stock price was artificially inflated. As a result, when the truth was revealed, the stock market crashed, and many investors lost vast amounts of money.
  2. The California Gold Rush (1848-1855): In the mid-19th century, gold was discovered in California, leading to a massive influx of people seeking their fortunes in the goldfields. Many individuals left their homes and jobs in search of quick wealth, believing they could find gold easily. However, the reality was harsh, with most prospectors facing difficult living conditions and little success in finding gold. Only a small minority actually struck it rich, while many others paid a heavy price in terms of time, effort, and financial investment.
  3. The Tulip Mania (1636-1637): In the Netherlands during the 17th century, tulip bulbs became highly sought after, and the prices skyrocketed to absurd levels. People were caught up in the speculation and invested heavily in tulip bulbs, hoping to sell them at even higher prices. However, the demand for tulips was largely illusory, and eventually, the market collapsed, leaving many speculators with worthless bulbs and significant financial losses.
  4. Dot-com Bubble (late 1990s to early 2000s): During the late 1990s, the rise of the internet led to a frenzy of investment in dot-com companies, even if many of these companies had questionable business models or no clear path to profitability. Investors believed that these companies would revolutionize industries and generate enormous profits. However, the bubble burst in the early 2000s, and many dot-com companies collapsed, leaving investors with substantial losses.
  5. The Dream of El Dorado: For centuries, explorers and adventurers sought the legendary city of El Dorado, a mythical place believed to be rich in gold and precious treasures. Numerous expeditions were mounted in search of this illusory city, but none ever found it. The pursuit of El Dorado became a symbol of chasing after unattainable dreams and paying the price of disappointment and failure.

Yeah? Does "the fucking spy chief of China" buy into illusions? Hunter was also paid a monthly salary from Burisma for YEARS! Wouldnt they figure out that he is only selling illusions after the first month? Why would you give a guy 5 million dollars for an illusion? That does not happen ever. No one pays millions for illusions. The wife of the Russian oligarch gave him a diamond for an illusion? The Bidens made 50+ million dollars by selling illusions?

Explain this wild theory. It doesnt make any sense whatsoever, unless your only purpose is to present a dishonest excuse for the Biden's bribery schemes.

What a coincidence....Your overbearing, bloviating text brick posts (attempt to) convey an illusion of intellect.

The “illusion of access” phrase was actually NOT from Archer’s testimony, it was in Dan Goldman’s question. Ironically, the MSM sells “illusions” to fool their base and other lazy, uninformed Americans. How many people will continue to believe that Archer actually said there was the “illusion” of access. They framed the narrative and it will stick in the minds of many.

He[Goldman] asked Archer, "Is it fair to say that Hunter Biden was selling the illusion of access to his father?"

Archer replied, "Yes."

Goldman followed up, "So, when you talk about selling the brand, it's not about selling access to his father. It's about selling the illusion of access to his father. Is that fair?"

Archer replied, "Is that fair? I mean, yeah, that is — I think that's — that's almost fair."

Goldman asked, "'Almost fair.' Why, 'almost fair?'"

"Because there are touch points and contact points that I can't deny that happened, but nothing of material was discussed," Archer said
.

Why would the VP of the US get on a conference call with this son and his Ukrainian business partners just to talk about the weather? It is very possible they just talked about the weather, but the goal was clearly to show that there was access and Joe clearly knew all about it. To think that Joe didn’t talk to his son about these dealings and what else he could possibly do is beyond naive.

"Illusion of access" quotes the article, and the article describes Archer's testimony.

Illusion of access describes what Hunter was selling. Yes, it's not an actual quote. Apparently the article gives the impression that it was an Archer quote. If that's incorrect, fine, but the salient point is........................

But that it was, indeed, was Hunter was selling, is accurate, and that is the salient point.

So, pettifog the salient point, if you want, but it doesn't change the fact.

  • But Archer "repeated over and over and over again that President Biden never discussed any business dealings or interests with Hunter or anyone else," Goldman told reporters after the hours-long transcribed interview.
IF that is false, the SALIENT point, please provide evidence. I'm just quoting the article.

Wrong.
The hundreds of millions Burisma Holdings got in kickbacks was no "illusion", nor was Joe Biden's illegal threats to get Shokin illegally fired.
That should be all the proof anyone needs.

Here is absolute proof:

And here is Shokin confirming the Biden crime family illegal dealings:
{...
In a detailed and extensive interview, Shokin has responded to allegations from the Biden regime, laying out his side of the story regarding the investigations into Burisma, a Ukrainian energy company that once employed Hunter.

It is unclear when this video was recorded or published but includes his reaction to Biden’s accusations.

At the time of Hunter Biden’s appointment, Viktor Shokin was Ukraine’s Prosecutor General, and there were investigations into Burisma’s owner.
...}

That is transparently stupid.
Clearly you know full well that the Biden crimes of such magnitude that they would easily murder anyone who squealed, so there is no way Archer is telling the truth.
There is zero motivation for Archer to tell the truth, especially since that would likely be a death sentence.
