I bought this Hakim in 8mm Mauser today.....Nothing real special about it.....Matching with a nice bore....."Turned-in" condition.

Very late production, likely sent to Yemen.

Other than strip it for cleaning/inspection I won't do anything else to it.

It did come with four converted MG-13 25 rd mags.

I'm sitting on a few cases of Romanian surplus 8mm so I figured why not. ;)

It's a beast at 10# but it has a sweet trigger.

I guess this is a rack number. (21)

MG-13 Mags.....An full-auto version was produced for export to Yemen that used surplus German MG-13 mags.

Looks more like an R and an A

Reading from Right to Left

The first letter is a Ra and second an Alif. Or it could be R1

What you do is use the tangent sight scale to figure out the numbers as they are Egyptian marked from 1-10 so that gives you something to go by..

That and I provided a pic over on Gunboards and they decipered it for me. ;)

1969 was the last year of production with around 2K made that year.

I used to read Arabic. It looked like R and A or 1

If they marked it in Yemen then it's probably Arabic.

Reading from Right to Left the first letter/number doesn't look Egyptian...unless you read the stock holding the weapon sideways. Then you read it top to bottom. It would be easier if it was printed instead of painted on.

Loud yes but very soft shooting due to the weight and muzzle brake....About like a .243.

You can see how mild shooting it is with Ian shooting it and he's a little feller..

That's really cool way to load.

It really makes no difference to me. It's as some Egyptian or Yemeni put it on.

Many people try to remove them but I always leave them on.

I've got a Yugo M48 Mauser that has initials carved into the stock.

I wanted something that was in better shape, but that's what you get when you buy used weapons online.

Some of the Yugo "stock art" is collectable.
