I don't have to work and I have 6 sources of income. Received my welcome packet to the veterans healthcare system today. No copay for healthcare. $8 copay for prescriptions. Sonsabitches. Now if I could get that 4 pints of blood back and the feeling in my leg, I'd be sitting on easy street. But I got up this morning and the weather man said 85 so I jumped in my car and headed for the beach. It's a hard life but someones gotta live it.

That is a very interesting list. But you forgot ONE very important word in your opening sentence. Let me put it there for you; Did you ever VOLUNTEER to put your life in the hands of a soldier etc etc.

Volunteer Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines. Right? Those men and women volunteered
to take the risks associated with military service.

You want to make them gods or what? Probably it was the only place most of them could find a job and get a paycheck.

Don't get me wrong. The military does a fantastic job. But like the guy with the scar and the hole in his body said, he EARNED his benes. But really he volunteered for his service. And knew the risks. He was not forced. And should not sound like he is "owed" something. Or somehow superior to people who didn't volunteer and get shot or blown up.

That's what welfare recipients sound like. Somehow they are owed. But the military is a great socialist system for sure. Takes care of its own pretty well.

It's not a matter of superiority.

Especially during wartime, we owe volunteers something more than somebody who has their hand out expecting something for nothing, like it's owed to them.

Being in the military today isn't the life of luxury, and sacrifices are expected of anyone who "serves".
