Ah yes, I remember it well! Eisenhower sent advisors to help the French who were in control of Viet Nam at the time. There were no fighters and Ike promised the Americans that no American would be fighting. The French left in 1954 and Nixon thought we could bring a quick end to the war. Sadly, the tactics didn't work.
