I understood guns as a deterrent when I was a kid

i used to live in a house in the heart of the san Fernando valley, and my cousin lived around the corner.

we moved out of there was i was 8, so this was sometime before that.

these strange new people moved in next to my cousin , ...people said they were "Mexicans"

they had a kid around our age, my cousin would hang out with him because they lived next door.

It was no big secret, ...he would show us things he got by burglarizing houses in the area. he was around 10 years old and already loon crazy.

my cousin and i got a formal invitation to join him in burglarizing houses.

i declined.

i said that's a good way to get shot
