According to news articles, South Sudan Deputy Ambassador in Khartoum said that there is no need for mediation between Juba and Khartoum to resolve Abyei issue, adding that the opportunity is still available for sustainable solution in the light of Presidents Al Bashir and Kiir insistence to dialogue as the only way to resolve the issue.

There is a positive atmosphere to resolve the issue peacefully provided that the two sides agree on the identity and the rights of Abyei inhabitants.

South Sudan President Salva Kiir has sought to defuse tension among the Dinka Ngok who are threatening to declare the disputed Abyei region as part of South Sudan if the North delays a vote to determine its status.

As a matter of fact if the three concerned parties to the issue sit together and agree on an acceptable timetable which could be implemented, then there will be no problem in Abyei.

Sudan Foreign Minister Ali Karti refused Americas interference in the issue of Abyei.

Karti was commenting on US special envoy to Sudan and South Sudan, Donald Booth, who said the Abyei issue was complicated.

The American envoy has no role in this issue because the two countries have a clear agreement signed by the two Presidents over the status of Abyei and steps taken to end the issue.

In such conflicts it is common that any party will lose part of its demands and that was known by each of Sudan and South Sudan, a matter which made the leaderships of both parties declared, before South Sudan secession, their commitment to the outcome of the PCA to avoid any further disputes over the ruling.

This is the reality on the ground which our political address should start from at this vital stage.
We expect reservations from both Dinka Ngok and Misseriya bases.

However, the two parties should recall that this is the nature of compromise solutions which will not give each party whatever he demanded because that is impossible.

Whenever such permissible reservations emerge we expect that the leaderships to fulfill their pledges through overcoming such observations in terms of awareness and convincing the bases and not through flaming speeches.
