If Justice Kennedy Had Known A Christian Would Be Jailed Less Than 3 Months Later...

Kennedy would've voted "no" on federal gay marriage if he had a crystal ball & saw Davis in jail.

It was not her Christianity that landed her in jail.

It was her 1st amendment right to exercise her Christianity that landed her in jail.

Actually, its the 1st amendment that forbid her from doing what she did. As a government official weilding state power she attempted to use that power to force people to obey her religion.

That's the State establishment of religion. And forbidden by the 1st amendment. Which is one of the myriad of reasons Kim Davis lost. And same sex couples can get marriage licenses in Rowan county with relative ease.

It was Government that made law against the right for her to practice her Christianity.

And rightfully so. Made up religious beliefs are not a ticket to put yourself above the law.

Made up?
The bible is very clear on it.

About issuing marriage licenses to same sex couples? I'd love to see that verse.

Because what is posted by the OP is stupid.
They heard the people addressing them during the time to hear them.
They made up their minds.
If you can go back and do monday morning quarterbacking.......so your reply is fucked and stupid.

No, only because the premise is stupid and ignorant

Not too many LGBT payroll bloggers responding to this one... mmm hmmm...

Hey, why limit yourself to a stupid premise when you can have a baseless conspiracy and a stupid premise!

I don't even know why we continue to participate in these foolish threads? Let Sil have her circle-jerk where she get to pretend queers are not marrying and the legal babble she invites is the actual law of the land. Let this dumb shit die on the vine.

About sodomy.

Agreed. Gone from this stupid thread.

About time too. Christians use to be able to punish heretics too. Quit trying to shove Christianity down everyone else's throats.

Translation: the title of this thread should be buried very quickly in case a news bot picks it up and runs with it.. :lmao:

Morbid fascination? Its rare that you get to see cognitive dissonance get worked out in text book fashion.

The bible is very clear on it.

The Bible does not contain one sentence condemning the issuance of same sex civil marriage licenses.

Oh, and btw, everything in the Bible is made up, as in written by ancient people.

No it was her refusal to do her job that did that. There is nothing in the 1st that gives her the right to defy a Court order to do the job she was elected to do. Your right to practice your religion stops when it starts to infringe on other citizens rights

Where in the Constitution does it say government has the right to make marriage licenses?

Has the SC ruled them unconstitutional?

Oh, and btw, everything in the Bible is made up, as in written by ancient people.

Sure, and the Bible does not contain one word about erecting a billboard that says "hey kids, gay is cool because gay marriage is normal now, you should try out the gay!" But I think we can both agree that the implication of Jude 1 and Romans 1 is that ANY activity that puts the stamp of normalizing homosexuality in such a conspicuous way, such as marriage or a billboard, applies.

In fact, if I had to pick one venue in which a person could change society at its core in any direction they saw fit, the one venue I would choose is marriage, since marriage is the epitome of "what society views as normal and accepted"...hence the reason the LGBT cult was so zealous at accomplishing their coup of it..

'Implications' isn't being crystal clear. Its an interpretation.

And I'm far more concerned about the 1st amendment and its prohibition against Establishing Religion than I am your interpretation of a religious text.

Deflecting much?
I answered the question about religious beliefs not marriage licenses.

The bible was written by men's hands but guided by God.
So why is everything coming true right now about end times written thousands of years ago?
Men could not have known about these things happing right now.

I can tell you what Kim Davis's church, the Apostolic church, says on the matter:

17. Governmental authority is respected and obeyed. Members serve in a non-combatant status in the military. Oaths are not taken, but truth is affirmed.

Matthew 22:21
Luke 3:14
Romans 13:1-10
1 Timothy 2:1-2
Hebrews 12:14
James 5:12
1 Peter 2:12-14

Apostolic Christian Church of America: Statement of Faith

Now isn't it odd that she happens to claim inviolable beliefs on the one hand, but ignores her own church's teachings on the other?

What did I say about 'made up'?

lol

Unless such a secular law violates key and core values of her faith that carry the label "mortal sin" upon them. Normalizing homosexuality is given dominance in discussion in the New Testament as a strictly forbidden activity.

So you believe. But others believe differently. Its unAmerican to use State power to force them to obey your religious beliefs.

So why is everything coming true right now about end times written thousands of years ago?

Wars and rumors of wars? That's the horoscope of end time predictions As it applies to virtually every era.

That the Bible was written by God is an exercise of faith, or superstition. It is not a fact. All evidence, rationality, and reason points to the Bible being written by men telling stories or in some cases recording various renditions of history.

No, it isn't, because we are talking about homosexuality within the confines of a legally recognized marriage,

a subject that the Bible says NOTHING about.

All so-called religious beliefs about same sex civil marriage are merely concoctions of men's minds, no matter what book they may try to fasten them to.

There's no mention of 'normalizing homosexuality in Jude. You're literally just making this shit up as you go along.

And Kennedy would have almost certainly ruled exactly as he did. As he's rejected her request for cert. Twice. And ruled against religious law trumping civil law in the Smith ruling.

As you know. And of course, ignore. Has ignoring reality ever worked for you? Has it ever helped you predict the future or understand the present?

Have fun arguing that in front of Sotomayor...and Kennedy..
