I can't think of a worse thing to happen this cycle.

The republicans went off the ledge with Trump - who is not even a republican - and buying into cultist populism rather than truth, ideals, pragmatism or even core partisan policies. That is all Sanders is on the left - another cultists populist that never was a democrat.

On the other hand, if Sanders doesn't get the nomination and his supporters, pretty much the most energized and impassioned of all Democrats, thing they were cheated, what happens to the Democratic Party?

The DNC knows their candidates like Clinton, Obama, and Biden were the ones telling working class Dems to "vote Republican if they didn't like NAFTA."

Bernie never made that mistake, and the DNC will never forgive him for that.

Imho, very little changes if Democrats nominate another Wall Street puppet in 2020.

The corrupt DNC leadership will do whatever it takes to ensure that they hold the reins of DNC power for the 2024 election.

They can survive losing to Trump in 2020 but, seldom does a party win three terms and Trump has no apparent heir, so, their key objective is to hold to their powerful positions in the DNC so they control candidate selection in 2024
