You are only part right. It's because Trump said if we have evidence of it working, doctors should consider it. If Trump came out against HCQ, the Democrats would have been jumping up and down stating that Trump wants people to die because there is evidence here and abroad that it does work on many people.

In spite of her political party opposition to Trump, she felt dying was not an option to be loyal to the party. She insisted her doctors provide her with the treatment, and she said she noticed a huge difference within a few hours of the first treatment.

We don't have time to do a complete clinical trial. That takes years to do. All we can go by is what doctors have reported and the trials that we are doing now. This treatment for this virus is new, and we have to move fast. Remember we are not the only country use HCQ to treat patients.
