If you judge the woman from the weather underground you are a hypocrite. ..

I am not questioning the wisdom of what happened, only the hypocrisy of the reactionaries that if she had been one of theirs they would have hired her to teach at one of their schools the day she got out of prison.

You're full of shit...wasnt one of those "reactionaries" Tim McVeigh, I think people cheered his death, but liberals wont cheer for James Holmes and even tried to stop Tookie Wililams' death......

Again you "reactionaries" Are consistant while you "commies" are motivated by politics.

NOBODY ought to be judged for their entire lifetimes based on the worst mistake they ever made.

When I think of some of the shit I did in my youth?

Phew!

I'm not that guy anymore.

Who here can cast the first stone?

Answered #60. Reactionaries and lefties and commies are the enemy of the American system.

22 years.

She paid her debt.

I did 3 years and learned my lesson.

Granted I think the college hiring her is complete bullshit but I digress.

Don't be hypocrites.

The college hiring her is the issue under discussion. Whether she "paid her debt to society" isn't the issue. That isn't a relevant criteria when making the hiring decision. Whether she is a good role model is a relevant criteria.
I disagree with you completely. If this had been anyone else, the criteria used to hire her wouldn't have even entered into the discussion.

The fact is, recidivism is high when we take those who have committed crimes and prevent them from entering back into society as productive members. I have no idea if she is repentant of her actions or not, but I do know that once you have served your sentence, you should be allowed to reenter society using what skills you have, as long as those skills are not a criminal activity.

The regard to her being a role model, that is an individual call. As I said in My initial post to this thread. If you have such a problem with her teaching, exercise your freedom and send your kids to a different, or better University.

This really is a non-issue unless it can be proved that she is teaching revolution. Then you will have to determine if it is your kind of revolution (following your ideology) or their kind of revolution (against your ideology).

In either case, no laws are being broken and we do not get to decide who is hired at this University.

Boycott or not. It is wholly up to you.

Sure it is, my old friend. I should have recognized you. Silly me. Yeah, you would have hired her and G. Gordon Liddy if it had been in your power, if they were both on your side.

In the 1960s and 1970s, Boudin became heavily involved with the Weather Underground. The Weathermen bombed the Pentagon, the US Capitol, the New York Police Benevolent Association, the New York Board of Corrections, as well as the offices of multinational companies. Boudin, along with Cathy Wilkerson, was a survivor of the 1970 Greenwich Village townhouse explosion, the premature detonation of a nail bomb that had been intended for a soldiers' dance at Fort Dix, New Jersey.[2] Boudin was 27 at the time. Both women were awaiting trial, out on bond for their alleged actions in Days of Rage in Chicago several months earlier. Wilkerson had been released on a $20,000 bond and Boudin was out on a $40,000 bond.

Columbia also has the pics from the bombing on their website.

A declassified FBI report on foreign contacts of the Weather Underground Organization produced by the FBI’s Chicago Field Office reported that, "On February 10, 1976, a source in a position to possess such information advised that Leonard Boudin ... had indicated to a friend that Kathie [sic] was presently in Cuba."[citation needed] The law firm of Rabinowitz, Boudin, Standard, Krinsky & Lieberman, P.C., provide legal representation for the Cuban government in the United States.[3][4]

Her father was Leonard Boudin, a lawyer and -

Mr. Boudin was born in Brooklyn. He went to City College and received his law degree from St. John's Law School in 1936. A year later, he married Jean Roisman, a poet, and he was taken into legal practice by his uncle, Louis Boudin, a well-known constitutional lawyer and an influential figure in the Socialist Party.

not only did she do time she ran from the law for 10 years. Sounds like just the kind of prof our kids need to have teaching them.

I agree with that.

I also think G. Gordon Liddy was not a role mode, either, yet the far right hired him.

He actually spoke on college campuses with Tim O'Leary and Al Franken.

Sure it is, my old friend. I should have recognized you. Silly me. Yeah, you would have hired her and G. Gordon Liddy if it had been in your power, if they were both on your side.

I have no idea what the hell you are babbling about this time. Are you lying again, or is that just the textual version of a bad acid trip?

Liddy should still be in prison.

Let's get back on point. Kathy was a domestic terrorist who's acts resulted in the death of men.

Hello?

Never forget how high up she was in the WU.

For crying out loud Bernie and Billy adopted her son. Chesa is legally theirs.
