While all those others are still lost... in a pretense of just who they are... and the ironic thing is that this is hugely multi-generational and they are simply playing a part that they have no choice over.

In 1 Samuel 8 we read about the Hebrew people clamoring for a human king. God then retorts that he is their king, and then warned off a list of abuses that would occur if they continued down that path, but if they so chose, they could have their human king.
