Illegal immigration is a serious problem, but the fact remains that once people are here our laws do apply to them, including basic rights and the protection of due process. It certainly makes things more complicated, but that is a baby we most certainly do not want to throw out with the bathwater.

Some people tend to let their emotions run roughshod over their reason when it comes to this topic.

Nothing that a revised SCOTUS ruling can't put right.

Not gonna happen. Better to focus all that energy on getting the government to fulfill its obligation to secure the borders first.

Strong enforcement inside the US, resulting in mass deportation (as in Operation Wetback-1954) would be one of the primary and most efficient ways of securing the border. When migrants see their migration won't succeed, they will tend to stop migrating.

The only problem with Immigrants is the bloated U.S. Government's control of Immigration.

Get rid of the Bureaucracy, 2-10 years it takes to get a spousal immigration visa (permanent resident card which is the old Green Card). Further the person who approves the Visa never once will meet the spouse, never, they will be in an office in New Hampshire or some other Congressman's district who brought home the bacon. On top of that there are two approvals required from two separate departments of the Government, in two or three or four or more different places.

Nothing could be a bigger mess but one can not say that when speaking of the Federal Government.

So it is the Federal Government destroying America, not Immigration. Socialism is destroying America.

If the bureacracy is hindering immigration from occuring, than HURRAY for that bureacracy. There SHOULDN'T BE any visas on family ties. If there are any, they should be like Canada's point system, allowing only those few people who really have something positive to contribute to the nation. (Business capital, jobs, special skills)

3. Tax $ lost (due to off books work + lower wages paid). The only reason two men working for 60k a year would be less tax dollars than one man working for 100k a year is the bullshit tax strategy employed by democrats where the evil rich upper middle class income folk are taxed on income significantly more than the middle class. Thus the issue is not immigration, it's welfare based progressive taxation.

And yes, just because you may be hispanic does not mean you are immune to bigotry and racism against immigrants.

I'm a conservative libertarian. I support legal immigration of qualified candidates. And yes, I support multi-culturalism. In my opinion the valid problems you list are all solvable problems by themselves. Further immigration may put emphasis on the problems in the case of accepting immigrants who are not qualified, but immigration is not the cause of these problems. The problems for the most part are caused by the libtard policies.

Perhaps you should qualify which immigrants you are complaining about. Is it the English or Canadian immigrants who come here on green cards and earn the same as if not more than Americans and pay their taxes?

Of course anyone who is even slightly educated knows that the term "Native American" refers to those peoples who had populated North and South America prior to large-scale European exploration and eventual settlement.

A person who is not a Native American but was born in the US would be referred to as a "native-born American." Even children in kindergarten are aware of this distinction.

And - of course - anyone born in the US is a United States citizen, so the term "anchor baby" is a gratuitous and inappropriate slur against American citizens by people who do not possess the intelligence to direct their ire at its rightful target.

I too, find them to be very unfortunately, 95% stuck in a Reagan world that never really existed. And I've already indicated that quite clearly. But the Reaganism they unfortunately are afflicted with, is seperate from many other issues, which I, as a true conservative (in the Eisenhower mold) do agree with, as I also stated in the OP. And none of this is inconsistent with my postings on other threads (Note: Eisenhower had a 91-92% tax on the wealthiest income brackets for all 8 years of his administration).
