That's a real treat eh? In 20% of American families not a single family member has a job.

More hope and change from Odumbo.

The Real Unemployment Rate: In 20% Of American Families, Everyone Is Unemployed | Zero Hedge

According to shocking new numbers that were just released http://www.bls.gov/news.release/pdf/famee.pdf 20 percent of American families do not have a single person that is working. So when someone tries to tell you that the unemployment rate in the United States is about 7 percent, you should just laugh. One-fifth of the families in the entire country do not have a single member with a job. That is absolutely astonishing. How can a family survive if nobody is making any money? Well, the answer to that question is actually quite easy.

There is a reason why government dependence has reached epidemic levels in the United States. Without enough jobs, tens of millions of additional Americans have been forced to reach out to the government for help. At this point, if you can believe it, the number of Americans getting money or benefits from the federal government each month exceeds the number of full-time workers in the private sector by more than 60 million.

When I was growing up, it seemed like anyone that was willing to work hard could find a good paying job. But now that has all changed. At this point, 20 percent of all the families in the entire country do not have a single member that has a job. That includes fathers, mothers and children. The following is how CNSNews.com broke down the numbers…

A family, as defined by the BLS, is a group of two or more people who live together and who are related by birth, adoption or marriage. In 2013, there were 80,445,000 families in the United States and in 16,127,000—or 20 percent–no one had a job.

You do realize that a retired couple is a family where no one has a job, right?
The actual report is at Employment Characteristics of Families Summary where the first line is:
In 2013, 9.6 percent of families included an unemployed person, down from 10.5 percent
in 2012, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. Of the nation's 80.4
million families, 80.0 percent had at least one employed member in 2013.
Without a job is not the same as unemployed nor is it synonymous with poor.

Then, thanks to Obumbocare, there is another large percentage that are only part timers. Then there's the huge percentage of folks who are under-employed.

Thanks for dragging America down Bama.

Okay first you're all giddy about an article that pinqy crushed with a single post, now you're just running with more bullshit.

Have you actually seen the stats on part-timers and how many are doing it by choice?

So go into one of those homes of those 20%, pull something out of the refrigerator, and say you are going to give it to the "job creators". That would be a much better policy, right? Mr. Job Creator left town and ain't coming back under the Republican plan.

Unemployment stimulates the Obama Democrat Progressive economy

So you think higher unemployment numbers will help Democrats get elected? (You can throw up your hands and walk off any time you like but I am going to try to walk you through this slowly.)

Dems tell us that food stamps and unemployment stimulate the economy, so that should be their platform: Vote Dems, get unemployed and do your part to help the Great Progressive Economy

And yet $$$$$$$ trillions of dollars held by American Companies are being held off shore, presumably to the advantage or those in other nations. Country first? Not in Americas Boardrooms, it's not even an afterthought.

But let's all blame the President of the United States, it's all his doing in the small minds of bigots and all around assholes.

Please, do tell me, where do you get the phrase "unemployment stimulate the economy"? Have difficulty thinking for yourself, do you?

There are 38 million RETIRED in this nation.

Assuming half of them are heads of households, that explains 19 million households where nobody works.

duh!

It hardly accounts for all of it, especially for those households where at least one person is unemployed. The point is that "20% of households don't have anyone working," isn' t necessarily dire. Now, it is 3.1% of families where no one is working g and at least one person is unemployed (actively looking for work). Huh, that doesn't sound as alarmist as 20%.
