Imagine the outcry if Trump did something like this. This should be headline news on all the networks but don't expect that.

Kids with cancer and their parents ejected from park near White House

sep 21 2015 The U.S. Secret Service ordered hundreds of parents and their cancer-stricken children out of Lafayette Square on Saturday night, barricading the park for at least two hours and disrupting the group’s plans for a candlelight vigil to raise awareness of and research funding for childhood cancer, participants said.

Some of the parents and children expressed hurt and disappointment that the Secret Service and Park Police, citing security precautions, virtually shut down part of a two-day event called CureFest for Childhood Cancer.

In a statement e-mailed late Sunday, Brian Leary, a spokesman for the Secret Service, said the closures on Pennsylvania Avenue and Lafayette Park were “put into place based on standard [Secret Service] protocols prior to protectee movements in the vicinity of the White House Complex.”

Yes it was a sad thing to happen, but it is a common action taken when any president or dignitaries drive through.
I wish they would have moved them temporarily to a good spot to keep the vigil going.

Secret Service sorry for moving cancer patients

Such park closures are frequent and also affect the pedestrian area outside the White House. Officers clear the entire area to limit potential threats to the President or dignitaries

Common? So you should have no trouble showing us where Bush did this.

(Notice this is also from WAPO?)

Why has The Washington Post not reported the closing of Lafayette Park to protesters? Throughout the Vietnam War, the "People's Park" has been a central and important focus of our First Amendment. Yet, the Bush Administration has shut it down. As an analogy, the press does condemn Bush when he fails to hold news conferences.

Dana Milbank: I actually was in the White House briefing room when Lafayette Park was closed the other day. What happened is the police set up barricades along the south end of Lafayette Park, but some demonstrators broke through the barricades, leading to arrests and to the moving of the barricades to the north side of Lafayette Park. Yes, the park was open during the Vietnam War, and Pennsylvania Ave was open to traffic until a few years ago, and for years the White House lawn itself was open to the public. In a time of sarin and anthrax, security requires changes.

That's not the issue, you fool. These were cancer kids. Nobody cares if obozo shuts down some gay pride event. THINK

I don't know about Trump. Right now to me he's a great big maybe

So really Obama had nothing to do with closing the park or ejecting the cancer patients. He probably didn't even know it happened.

Conservatives of course never miss an opportunity to contrive and propagate one of their ridiculous lies.

Yes, had Trump done this, we'd have stories all over the place with plenty of video of the children.

Who cares? It's been part of their security protocol for over ten years. I'm sure there are plenty of other parks in DC to go have cancer in.
