The Internal Revenue Service has told a prominent Pasadena church that it has ended its lengthy investigation into a 2004 antiwar sermon, church leaders said Sunday.

But the agency wrote in its letter to All Saints Episcopal Church that officials still considered the sermon to have been illegal, prompting the church to seek clarification, a corrected record and an apology from the IRS, the church's rector told standing-room-only crowds of parishioners at Sunday's services

Most of them were "cowed" by a President that told them in no uncertain terms that they were either with him..or with the terrorists.

FWIW it took me about a month to get my 501c-3 status in the year 2000.

So the IRS must have been dragging out the process for those organizations, which is, let's face it, an abuse of power.

Now who was POTUS when that happened?

Yes, they were really cowards.

The story was from 2007, Staph....

Which is a good point. When the Bush IRS applied the law incorrectly, an apology sufficed.

When the Obama IRS (still run by the people Bush left behind, mostly) applied the law incorrectly, OH MY GOD IT'S WATERGATE ALL OVER AGAIN WE ARE ALL GOING TO DIE LORDY LORDY JAYSUS PLEASE SAVE US.

Oh, wait. What was that? All the decisions were made within the IRS?

Just the latest example of why blind trust and faith in the government is naive and destructive.

Nail 'em.

What Sallow is failing to grasp here is that BOTH SIDES are guilty of this blind trust and faith in the Government. Sallow, assuming that you were only addressing the right, thanked this post without realizing the bigger implications of your point.

People like Sallow though, believe in Government welfare initiatives. Talk about blind trust and faith in the government.

The only Good Welfare is Corporate Welfare, right?

Come on. Get real.

These groups didn't want to disclose their donors or pay their taxes. The government SHOULD have been asking questions.
