Is it just me? I so enoy liberals raising taxes in their blue states

And watching companies and people flee its so funny watching them cry about cooperate greed.

They want freedom for just themselves but not anyone else .

Watching the blue states is comical ....

I think it is bad news for the Heartland. These Loons have ruined places like New York, New Jersey, Chicago, Detroit, California, etc....but when they start to flee their own Socialist messes, they bring their looney notions with them, because they never learn...and so they are beginning to pollute the rest of the country, even as they run from their own Socialist policies.
We have a lot of former residents of NY, NJ, CT, MA and other blue states here.
They come for the low taxes, jobs, better economy, and mild(er) winters. After about a year or so of "life on the green grass on the other side of the fence" they all start complaining that there isn't enough in the way of government services. They cannot fathom the idea of contracted services such as trash collection, road and park maintenance and the like. They complain about the lack of fine or upscale dining in the suburbs. They complain about things because it is "different"......
I hear this. When I engage them( not by choice) I let them know I left NJ over 20 years ago. And then I ask them why they came here. Then after the interminable bitching, I remind them that I-95 also has northbound lanes of which they can avail themselves.
I wanted a little piece of home too..So I planted a Norway Spruce tree in my front yard. The rest of southern stuff I just deal with.

A lot of blue states have both benefited from globalization and been hurt by it. For example a state like CT that has very high average income and very high levels of income inequality. In CT the top 1% saw large increases in income and there was growth in the number of professionals getting paid over $100K. The problem is that at the same time there was stagnation in the number of people getting paid between $100K and $50K and growth in the number of people getting paid less than $50K.

So stagnation of the middle, growth in the upper middle class and the rich. Growth in the number of poor.

There are a lot of problems going on that lead to this result. First off the state invests more than any other state in education. This large investment in education has been great for these individuals in the middle area but many of them are still not making it into the upper middle class in CT so they often move south where their education is more of an advantage. The poor are stuck. There are no jobs for them in CT because it is a high cost state, mostly due to things like land values, but they also don't seem to have the incentive or the capacity to move somewhere else. They are just comfortable enough with the aid they get and since they depend on aid they don't have a great incentive to move to a state that offers less aid.
The blue states in the Northeast especially NJ are burying themselves in high taxes, fleeing residents and loss of business to more tax/business friendly states.
Of course northern liberals are incensed by this. They cannot control their anger over the ability of people to escape their confiscatory taxation and big government ways.

Damn my friends in Chicago tells me it's true and unheard of 10.25 %

Unbelievable and who would want to move there?

Crazy.
I thought Nassau County in NY had a high sales tax rate..8 625%....
BTW, the state sales tax in Tennessee is 7% but there is no income tax.
US sales taxes are a relative bargain though.
Try living in Montreal..
There is a federal Goods and Services Tax of 7%. A provincial sales tax of 7.75% and another special tax the Province of Quebec throws in of 3%......For a total of 17.75%.There are other taxes as well. For those using lodging, there is a 3% lodging tax.

Yes, blue states should lower taxes and be reliant on the federal government the same as red states operate.

Umm. The two are mutually exclusive....BTW New Jersey public schools get more federal aid than almost every other state in the country.
If you feel your state is being short changed by the federal government, you've no one to blame but your own House members and Senators.....So stop whining...

Kind of sums it up. You get what you pay for.

I mean, you could move to Cambodia and pay almost nothing in taxes, but what will you get?

Oh you dumbasses. First I have one telling me all the homes around Wrigley Field are super expensive million dollar homes that I could never afford and then I have another idiot telling me they are tenements. You guys are so stupid the things you imagine. I wonder what it feels like making these bold statements without a single fact. That's why I include links and data and research to my posts. It's easy to find with Google. How many times do I tell you fruitcakes to look stuff up before making these idiotic statements. Then you have some idiot moron saying "You can't believe everything you read on the Internet" as if that's some kind of "new" news. Sometimes it's the land of the tards. Worse, so many say what is obviously nonsense and then fist pump with a "nailed it".

How many days running RDERP are you going to claim you own a house across from Wrigley field?

Again go outside and post a picture of the street sign?

I will know exactly were you really live.

I was surprised a few years ago and had this Japanese guy from the Chicago area installing a new machine at our plant, and I asked him your office in elk grove? (a few miles away from o hare)

He is like no we moved to lake Zurich Around 30 miles and a few hours depending on traffic to o hare airport...

He told me way to much in taxes now in cook county.

These idiots vote for democrooks, who destroy their states, then they move to red states and elect democrooks again.

They're locusts.

My favorite part is watching left-wing nutjobs cry that Red States get more back than they put in than Blue states get
it isnt true, but even if it was whose jobs is it to ensure a Blue State gets its "fair share"? It's their Blue Representatives in Congress' job. libs always want to blame others for their own failures

A large part of the wealth leaving NJ is made up of retired public employees who have pensions that allow them to live a comfortable lifestyle. Pensions now being spent in places such as Florida, Texas, South Carolina and North Carolina.
The property taxes are killing them. Why should they have to shell out in excess of $1000 per month for property taxes on a house they have owned for 30 plus years and most likely own outright.....So somebody else's kids can attend school?.....May look selfish, but when one has worked over half their life, paid their dues to the community, they look to get a clean break. They leave....

First, when it comes to insults, you're a minor leaguer.
Now, no one is saying the prices are not high. And who cares about that. The fact is the homes near Wrigley are dramatically inflated in price due to the location. The North Side is highly desirable.
Now, do you have the capability to distinguish the difference between price and value?

What they also conveniently forget it that Blue states receive more real dollars in federal aid than they care to admit. All they like to to spew is the return on a dollar for dollar basis.
Its called skewing the statistics to fulfill an agenda.
