Again we see the complete stupidity and gullibility of the Misinformation Voter. That 16,000 number was fabricated by the GOP and fed to the most stupid people on Earth, who swallowed it whole. Ron Paul went so far as to say the 16,000 would be ARMED agents. With 1.6 billion bullets no doubt!"He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harass our people and eat out their substance."(Declaration of Independence)
An analysis released yesterday by Republicans on the House Ways and Means Committee estimates that 16,500 IRS agents will need to be hired to meet the expanded authority granted the IRS.[under Obamacare]
By the way, that GOP scripted lie was fabricated in 2010, before the ACA went into effect. Now that the law has started we have the actual number of IRS agents hired as a result of the law, a total of 291. That's right, 291 agents were exaggerated into 16,000 agents by the GOP and there are people stupid enough to still parrot the 16,000 figure in a public forum after the actual number is known!!!!
Dear, The Affordable Care Act is a 2700 page government monster by any imaginable standards and so far far exceeds the evils mentioned in the Declaration of Independence.
CBO Director Elmendorf, March 11: CBO has not completed an estimate of all of the discretionary costs that would be associated with H.R. 3590. …uch costs would probably include an estimated $5 billion to $10 billion over 10 years for administrative costs of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
Back in 2010 the IRS gave their own estimate of the number of agents they would need, which was 300.
BTW, we have the administration costs for the implementation of the ACA in 2012, $473 million.
