Is Trump being too compassionate?

Trump supporting DACA would only prove that he has the most basic, immature level of compassion possible. Something that the movement he heads completely abhors.

His feet and the rest of the GOP's need to be held to the fire until he concedes on this.
Trump isn't supporting DACA. He's leaving it to congress to find a solution that wouldn't hurt those who are being productive.

He's trying to fix another mess obama created.

He is trying to fix Obama's mess by passing it on to someone else?

You're right

He should get rid of it the same way Obama created it.

With an EO.

Democrats couldn't have a problem with that,

could they?
I'd say they're daring him to, because it would be a political disaster for him... but the well-being of Dreamers is too important for political games.
but the well-being of Dreamers is too important for political games.
Then Obama should have put his pen and his phone in his desk, and got something passed thru congress.
So he should have abandoned Dreamers? The GOP dominated congress almost blocked aid for a hurricane emergency in 2012. Obama would have been stupid to think they'd act in the name of good for anything.

Since even Trump can't get anything passed by a GOP congress, it seems a little naive to think that Obama could have.

Then it should have never happened. That's why we have separate divisions of government in our country.

But they did...

the prevented an amnesty that would have given the Dreamers the right to stay.

Great job

Is his decision to give congress 6 months to fix the immigration problems a sign of compassion the left says he doesn't have?

It's a sign that he doesn't know how to lead. He's kicking the can down the road, unless you're too fucking blind to see it.
Some negotiator. Some deal maker.
A real asshole.

No because he's doing it the proper way unlike that big eared freak who thought he was king.

DACA should have been passed the proper way--not an EO to escape going through Congress.

No... Trump gave congress 6 months to let them stay, and tweeted a little while ago that he'd revisit this if they couldn't figure out how.

He is also doing what Obama said should be done.

Obama slams Trump for rescinding DACA - CNNPolitics

Months before his re-election, he announced in the Rose Garden that he was taking action on his own, though qualified his move as a short-term fix.
"This is not amnesty. This is not immunity. This is not a path to citizenship. It's not a permanent fix," Obama said. "This is a temporary stopgap measure."

Fucking exactly.

Congress didn't want to pass a law that so obviously violates the Constitution.

Trump's move is perfect.

It's Congresses job.

Not Trumps, Not Obamas.

Trump seems to know that.

Obama didn't.

Breaking the law and violating the Constitution to try to grow your voter base so you can maintain power doesn't seem very American to me.

It sounds fascist, doesn't it?

Is his decision to give congress 6 months to fix the immigration problems a sign of compassion the left says he doesn't have?

Calculation, that's all it shows.

Red meat to the base by claiming he repealed DACA, but give himself some cushion with everyone else with 6 months delay, so he can claim it is Congress' fault.

It's always been a decision for congress.
Obama overstepped his authority, and Trump is telling congress to do their job.

if obama overstepped his authority on DACA then Reagan and Bush1 overstepped their authority as well with their deferred action programs for illegal immigrants...which is possible, but until a case makes it through the supreme court, we'll never know?

It probably would have been better if he had let the states lawsuit go through, just to get the answer...

"The story begins on November 6, 1986, when Reagan signed the last comprehensive legalization bill to pass Congress."

see the key word there?

No????

Reagan nd Bush1 both used executive orders for deffered action years before legislation passed congress?

No. It's a rather ingenious move by Trump to put this issue in the hands of the Senate. The same Senate who has upcoming elections to win. This is how Trump will eliminate those senators who are hostile to the Agenda that we voters put Trump in office to see through. Absolute genious.

.

You are full of shit.

For some reason when this not-king put out EO to not enforce Obamacare mandates (legislation passed by congress last I checked) you conservatives had no constitutional reservations.

When this not-king put out unconstitutional EO on "sanctuary cities" you equally had no concerns.
5 Ways Trump's Anti-Sanctuary City Orders Are Unconstitutional

When this not-king put out unconstitutional regulatory EOs you had no objection
Donald Trump's Unconstitutional Executive Order on Regulations | The Regulatory Review

Not-king's blatantly unconstitutional Muslim ban EO also found much support among the "constitutionalists!".

Essentially he passed the buck to Congress. Harry Truman said the buck stops here. With Trump, the buck goes anywhere but here. He knows the optics would look horrible for these children and young people to be dragged off. If Congress passes something, he signs it. Then he can moan about how McConnell and Ryan were mean to him and made him sign it.
