This is the key. Trump makes issues and policies irrelevant by constantly creating chaos in his desperate search for validation and approval.

As it turns out, the office of President of the United States requires enough fundamental maturity and stability for that person to effectively govern.

What his followers -- and I don't use that term loosely -- can't see is that he is not advancing conservatism. He is damaging it. I agree, at least to some degree, with many things that the Right advocates. But not at the price of authoritarianism, decency, honesty, reason and intellect. America has to be better than that.
