Israel buys oil smuggled from ISIS territory

Israel has become the main buyer for oil from ISIS controlled territory, reports "al-Araby al-Jadeed."

Kurdish and Turkish smugglers are transporting oil from ISIS controlled territory in Syria and Iraq and selling it to Israel, according to several reports in the Arab and Russian media. An estimated 20,000-40,000 barrels of oil are produced daily in ISIS controlled territory generating $1-1.5 million daily profit for the terrorist organization.

In August, the "Financial Times" reported that Israel obtained 75% of its oil supplies from Iraqi Kurdistan. More than a third of such exports go through the port of Ceyhan, which the FT describe as a “potential gateway for ISIS-smuggled crude."

That explains why Israeli lobby in this country is so keen on destabilizing Syria. Thank Gods, Obama is the President now who was able to resist both Israeli and war lobbies or else there would have been many more Syrian casualties. There is so much pressure on Obama to go to war In Syria, it is beyond belief.

Yeah: a real winner...hundreds of thousands DEAD and millions displaced as well as exporting terrorists around the world. Sounds like Obama should do a Victory lap around the Middle East!!!

Greg

It seems like you do not know much about the U.S. Presidents do not have as much power as you think they do. In order to stay in the office, they have to rely on support from special interest groups aka lobbies. This is why you will never see me bashing Bush or Obama. The major difference between Obama and Bush is that Obama resisted these lobbies a lot more than Bush did.

So how is Syria working out if Obama is correct?

Greg

U.S. should stay out of Syria. Let Israel, Turkey, Iraq and Syria sort it out.

Yes, that would be my suggestion to Russia.

But I do not have any stake in Russia, so at the end of the day I am not that much concerned about Russia getting involved in this mess.

Similarly, I will not be that much concerned if Australia decided to tangle itself in this mess.

Not just oil - it seems like Syrian refugees are being harvested for their organs as well.

---

A Turkish court on Dec. 5 arrested an Israeli organ trafficking suspect, who was sought by Interpol’s red notice and detained at Istanbul’s Atatürk Airport on early Dec. 4.

He was reportedly in Turkey to convince struggling Syrian migrants to sell their organs.

You leave the peoples alone in the mess that your government has created. What else could we expect?

Everybody "needs" oil, what I meant was that Israel isn't in an oil crisis. And with the recent natural gas finds off the coast of Israel, it is poised to become an energy exporter.

Turkey an Europe ain´t in an oil cisis as well, but that doesn´t hinder them from buying ISIS oil.

However, if the Kurds make business with ISIS oil and Israel buys oil from the Kurds, Israel inevitably buys ISIS oil.
That isn´t Israel´s guilt, then. But I cannot imagine that the Kurds do business with ISIS.

The Kurdish autonomy is tolerated by the Iraqi government for now. But Jroc is wrong with his statement. If the Peshmerga is such a large force (200.000 troops), even larger than ISIS, I wonder, why they don´t strike ISIS once and for all. But if they are only the "tiny" 20 - 25K force, how could they be the only serious opponent of ISIS, as it is regularly being stated here.

Kurds are great fighters, with a lot at stake. It's their land, their culture, and their people. They are also a noble people with a history of tolerance and giving shelter to Jews and other minorities. If anybody deserves a homeland in the ME, it would be the Kurds, it's been their land since ancient times.

The Iraqi Security Forces supported by Iran, various tribe militias and Hezbollah are the major enemy of ISIS and its allies in Iraq.
