We'll probably hear the results of the preliminary investigation today, and then you will find out.I wonder if launching a succession of drone strikes comes down to 'one' IDF soldier.

From what I have heard it happened at night. Either way, attempting to guess what happened not being there investigating is useless. To me it honestly seems implausible. This isn't some individual rifleman firing a few cents bullet all on his lonesome. This involves a several million dollar drone and missiles in the six figure dollar range. If there's no depth of process to approving drone strikes that's a terrible look for the IDF and would undercut the narrative of how careful they conducting this operation.
We don't yet know what happened. If it was a rogue drone operator, then this was the result of a soldier not following orders and there is nothing wrong with the system, but it seems more likely now that there was a breakdown in communications that led to the misidentification of the trucks. WCK would have notified COGAT, which is part of the IDF but involved in civil affairs in the territories and not involved in pursuing the war, and the IDF southern command, which is running the war either didn't receive the information or didn't sufficiently disseminate it, leading to the drone operator misidentifying the convoy. To me it honestly seems implausible.
