It's a "win" for Trump just to declare his emergency and sign every funding bill to reopen the gummi

even though there's not enough money there to build the wall, and even the gop will tie up taking money from the military.

But Trump looks strong to the Trumpbots, and with Mueller finishing up in a couple of months and Trump gearing up for court fights over blocking Mueller's findings becoming public, he needs that
No matter how this ends, Trump will declare victory. Even when he lost lawsuits, he would declare victory.

Just like when he wanted the US to cut and run from Iraq. "Declare victory and leave!"

Just like he wants to cut and run from ISIS, he has declared victory.
yeah, but as we've posted, Trump's known since Jan 16 Mexico isn't paying, and he's known before the 18 elections he didn't have 50 in the senate to give him 25 billion for a wall (and that figure can't include the eminent domain costs). And he agreed to funding the gummit WITHOUT THE WALL in Dec.

So, this "emergency" doesn't have jack shit to do with the wall. It's about showing the Trumbots his phony penis.

A win getting the gummit open while convincing his Trumpbots that he's a strong leader

A reporter on TV just said that she asked trump if the buck stops with him and he said no.

Yup, that's what happens when $10 Billion is sent to South America...dumbass.

Trump signed the bill Trumpcumface

Here are the events in order:

1) The Senate passes a spending bill to keep the government open until February.

2) The spending bill was on its way to the House when Trump announced he was not going to sign it. Coulter and Rush told him not to.

3) The new House and Senate are sworn in.

4) The new House passes the old Senate's spending bill.

5) McConnell refuses to bring the spending bill back to the Senate floor for a vote because he knows it will pass.

This needs to be hammered into the Trumptards' heads so they can see exactly who owns the shutdown.

But the Trumpbots don't care about facts. Yes, the emergency arouse when Coulter and Rush cried about Trump reneged on signing the gop legislation to keep the govt open. But remember, we're in the land of alternative facts, by Trump's own admission.

The situation now is:

1. Pelosi is not going to fund the wall. She can't really.

2. Trump is not going to sign funding without being able to say "they funded the wall." After Rush and Coulter, he can't, really.

SO, how do we get from there to opening the govt? And the govt is going to open before the month is out. Otherwise the gop senators up for election in 20 will not be able to return home. But they certainly don't want to kill Trump's presidency. And McConnell isn't going to bring up a bill for a vote unless he's got at least 20 senators wanting a vote. In NORMAL World, Congress passes bills allowing for a couple of billion on additional border "infrastructure."

HOWEVER for Pelosi to even consider that, she'd have to be GUARANTEED Trump would sign it, and not shut down the gummit again in 2019. No one can give her that.

So, I think there's got to be a third rail. And the only two I see are A. So many people suffer the shutdown, the gop passes that "additional infrastructure" with a veto proof margin. B. Trump just does his fantasy emergency that accomplishes nothing in reality.

Nope, we should have never been there.

House passes bill that would end shutdown, but Senate unlikely to take up

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. House of Representatives on Wednesday passed legislation to end a partial shutdown of the Treasury Department and some other agencies, but without any money for President Donald Trump's border wall.

By a vote of 240-188 along mostly partisan lines, the House passed the bill and sent it to the Republican-controlled Senate as part of Democrats' latest strategy to end partial government shutdowns at many federal agencies that began on Dec. 22. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has not indicated a willingness to bring the bill up for a vote.
Exactly. Trump declares his win, and McConnell can move the same legislation he already got passed but Trump changed his mind about saying he'd sign it.

It's all theatre so Trump can appear to his Trumpots as having the biggest, hardest penis EVAH
I actually believe there is 6 billion still owed to the president for border security left over from Bush. I'm asking him to demand that money now.

Democrats supported the wall in 2006 when it was a fence

"Democrats haven't always had such a hard position on the border wall. Over the past decade, Democrats have supported billions of dollars in funding for physical barriers. In 2006, the Secure Fence Act passed with bipartisan support requiring the construction of physical barriers along 700 miles of the nearly 2,000-mile U.S.-Mexico border. Sixty-four Democrats voted the measure in the House and 26 in the Senate."

This time the fence wasn't immoral. now it is? too fking funny. again, the left can't get out of the way of facts. it slaps them squarely in the face daily in here.

Something that makes me crazy, Trump 2 years of demanding wall, just now going to look at the area & what it may need.

The Democrats supported building a fence along 700 miles, and they paid for it. That's done.

They have never supported a wall along all 2,000 miles.

Nice try.

G is a neocon who likes to talk about debt but then can't get enough of his military adventures which cause trillions. No, I didn't prove his point.

Trump's lost only if his actual endgame is getting full funding for his wall.

I agree. Politically he's already won credit for the fight. He just did it at the expense of nearly a million fellow Americans.

Well, he's also got to back out (and not down) from the shut down. And I just don't see how he gets there (without the gop senate helping him) without declaring his phony emergency that in the end won't actually do anything.

It would probably be good for America if the gop Senate told him "we're going to reopen the gummit with a veto proof vote, but we're going to include a couple of billion for more infrastructure around Texas points of entry."

Edit: But he's lied to McConnell at least twice saying he'd sign some bill if it passed, and then after McConnell moved the bill, Trump stabbed him in the back and wouldn't sign it. So .... McConnell may just sit this out.

Mitch may be screwed. If he has an exit strategy, he should use it before the fallout from furloughed workers gets really ugly. He's losing Senators already.

If I were him, I'd work with Pelosi behind the scenes and tell Trump he's got to take their deal.
