There is no evidence Christopher Steele was ever hired by FBI.
Christopher Steele was a british intelligence officer.
Much of that dossier has ended up being true, and none of it has been proven false.
In fact, Steele just won a libel case.

The 'information' in the infamous 'dossier' came from Russia.

4. If any collusion occurred, it was through Democrats, the only folks for whom we have actual evidence of collusion.

Steele was working with Russians who opposed Putin and his established regime. Case in point is Oleg Erovinkin.

Its like if you said, "somebody worked with Americans". But then the question becomes did he work work with a republican american or a democrat american. Its the same thing when working with russians.

But its all a moot point, because nothing depends on the dossier. FBI investigation wasnt started because of dossier. Mueller doesnt depend on the dossier.. It could be 100% false and it wouldnt make one bit of difference.

FBI started investigating July 2016, but dossier didnt come until 3 months later:
As The New York Times reported in December, the investigation began in July 2016 — after George Papadopoulos, a Trump campaign foreign policy adviser, told an Australian diplomat that Russia had political “dirt” on Hillary Clinton. Australian officials then alerted their American counterparts.

The information provided by Mr. Steele did not reach the F.B.I. officials charged with investigating Mr. Trump’s campaign until mid-September.

Information from Bruce Ohr's testimony indicates that he and his wife were sending all of the information he was collecting to Clinton surrogates prior to the start of the special counsel investigation starting in June-July. This is why Comey made reference to many of the stories in the dossier in his letters to Chuck Shummer and other prominent democrats PRIOR TO THE ELECTION and prior to his termination for cause.

As a compiled document it wasn't released until Nov-Dec 2016, but as bits and pieces it was already widely circulated due to Brennan, Clapper, Comey and many others who were being kept in the loop of discredited spy Christopher Steel's fallacious accusations by Ohr and his wife. We are just now connecting the dots and requesting the letters and correspondences to and from these people.

This is a wholly manufactured ruse/deception/coup and it gets worse as investigators dig deeper.. Ohr opened the lid to pandora's box and its ugly...

Whatever Comey gave to Chuck Schumer at/before election is likely meaningless. Schumer appeared to lose confidence in Comey, likely due to Comey's re-opening hillary email investigation. Comey's announcement a week prior to voting influenced the election as much as all Russian meddling. Whatever happened with dossier was all out of public view until buzzfeed published it, save for a few motherjones nerds.

Ohr has decades of experience beating down the Russian mafia. Certainly seems like an asset to me. The claims of "coup" ring hollow considering the crimes of Trump' inner circle; flynn, manafort, cohen et al.
Ultimately, the greater threat is the Russian attack on our democracy. Ohr was doing his job.

Like, Trump admitting that his campaign met with a Russian operative at Trump Tower for the express purpose of collecting information on Hillary from 'high level' sources as part of the Russian government's effort to aid Trump.

Or Trump lying about the meeting repeatedly trying to cover it up. And Trump compelling others to lie about the meeting. And Trump trying to shut down the investigation into the meeting.

Or Don Jr. being caught by Spanish authorities in wiretaps trying to set up a secret meeting with Russian Intelligence handler Alexander Torshin.

Or senior Trump officials telling Trump's foreign policy advisor to go to Russia to collect dirt on Hillary including 'thousands of emails' from representatives of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Or Trump's hand picked national security advisor pleading guilty to lying to the FBI to try and cover up ties between Trump's team and the Russian government.
