The GOP isn't going to win much of the minority vote unless and until it grows some balls, and that would requiring going directly, clearly, dynamically, and consistently after the way the Democrats have isolated blacks especially from the rest of American society. Identity Politics has done this, the strategy of turning E Pluribus Unum into a hyphenated America. The party remains intimidated by the PC Police, afraid of being labeled a racist instead of exposing that tactic for what it is.

I see no indication that the party has the guts for this yet.

What a joke. the reptilian party doesn't have guts. The reptilians do have guts, that's for sure. They are willing to bring down the economy or whatever it takes to make obama a failure. Lie, cheat, whatever it takes to get rid of the black guy in their white house.

This fall we have a good chance of getting the minority vote. First ask blacks, since the first democrat black president was elected six years ago, are you better off?
Let them know that, republicans want to help them out of poverty by giving them school vouchers. Show them of the success of them in Washington.
Let them know that its the democrats stopping them. All because they don't want money going to an education that also teaches religion. Make sure they realize that democrats think their not smart enough to choose where their child goes to school. Also that its a democrat that is taking a choice from them.
Make sure they realize its Obama letting the illegals come here and letting them stay. That it takes programs away they could use.
Teach them abortion isn't always the answer, that there other choices. Educate them that more black babies are being murdered than any race. Let them know that democrats want the choices not available, it is them against even a ultrasound before an abortion. Another choice taken.
Show them how welfare has destroyed the black family. Show them how rewarding it can be supporting and raising a family together. Let them realize we don't want to take welfare away from people who really need it.
Show them how really racist the democrat party is, show them the hatred for successful black republicans. If minorities just listened to Herman Cain talk they could see how they to can be successful.
Remind them that their lives has gotten worse since they elected a black DEMOCRAT president. If a black DEMOCRAT president won't help them, then maybe they need to listen to the republicans. Remind them that over 50 years ago they would fix the problems in the black community, but it has become a nightmare, because of the democrats.
Let them realize republicans want them to have the choice to how successful they can be.

It's this sort of ignorant idiocy from the right that will keep African-Americans voting democratic for decades.

This post of yours is really anchoring on a liberal foundation. There is nothing especially worthy about capturing more minority voters. Don't get me wrong - there's nothing wrong with doing so, but failing to do so doesn't mean that a party is deficient or on the wrong track.

Do you imagine that Democratic Party leaders are worried that they're doing something wrong by capturing 95% of all black votes? I don't think that they're concerned about that at all.

Democrats have chosen their path - they're content to engage in a racial spoils system. They'll bribe minority voters by rewarding those voters for simply being black or Hispanic or Asian. Democrats are happy to be racists.

Republicans are NOT happy to be racists and that's why they don't have any race-based policies, that's why they favor race-blind policies. This race-blind approach to governance doesn't appeal to many minority voters because it can't match the bribes offered them by the Democrats. No matter, the race-blind approach has a lot of appeal to white voters. White voters want a race-blind society, they want to stop the racial bribery that the Democrats implement and enforce.

It's time that the Republicans understood who their constituency is and begin to work to broaden that constituency. The future of the Republican Party lies with race-blind white people who want to eradicate the racism that the Democrats keep pushing into society. The future lies with peeling more and more whites away from the Democrats by pointing out the obvious - what the Democrats are doing has no appeal for whites because it is the opportunities of whites which must be curtailed in order to hand out the spoils to blacks and Hispanics.

Sure it is. I have no objection to blacks and Hispanics, who want to puke when they see racist Democratic policies, deciding to join a race-neutral Republican coalition.

In fact, I think that this is the ideal state of affairs. Back when the nation was 85% white both parties split the white vote based on policy differences. Having policies be about ideas again, instead of being racial voting blocs, would be terrific.

If the Democrats of 2014 magically disavowed furthering racist policies then the black, Hispanic and Asian voters would be cast off and could choose their party based on policy differences, not on whether one party offers them race-based bribes and the other party doesn't.

I'm not holding my breath and waiting for Democrats to disavow racism in their policies though. Why would they, look at how offering race-based bribes works so fabulously for them.

Good luck with that. At a GOP event there are always a few blacks around, the token on stage and rest standing in the back between rounds of serving drinks and dinner.

Only a racist calls a minority a "token". The left owns racism and some minorities see that.

Are you a Democrat or Republican? How can you be "race blind" when you want to "peel off white votes from the Democrats" ?

When Obama puts racial hiring quotas into ObamaCare and Dodd Frank, this directly affects whites working in those fields and disadvantages them.

Telling them that Democrats are working against their interests and the opportunities of their children and informing them that Republicans don't advocate any race-based policies can appeal to fair-minded whites.

Telling people that their groups of friends are abusing them is a good public service. Pointing out that abuse is taking place doesn't mean that one is advocating abuse of a different kind or at all.

Or to put it more starkly, it's not this type of appeal "Join Republicans BECAUSE you're white." Rather it's more like this "Join Republicans because Democrats are anti-white and there is no benefit to you from being in a party working to harm you."
