“The individuals who were killed in that terrible, tragic incident,” Earnest droned, “were killed not because of who they were but because of where they randomly happened to be.”


3. Nobody “randomly” happens to be in a kosher supermarket, not even in Manhattan.... the clientele of a kosher supermarket is almost entirely made up of Jews. You know this because you’re not an idiot.

4. ...if you want to find Jews, a kosher supermarket is the place to be on a Friday morning, as people are preparing for the Sabbath.

5. ...Earnest is the press secretary of the most important person in the world... he isn’t an illiterate dope. Which means he knows this too.

So what he did was speak a vile lie, and a deeply dishonorable one.

It’s dishonorable because his remarks suggest these murders were meaningless acts of nihilism, when they in fact were terrifyingly meaningful acts of anti-Semitic murder on European soil 70 years after the Holocaust...

For only a few minutes later, about half a mile away from him in Washington, Earnest’s fellow administration mouthpiece Jen Psaki took to the podium at the State Department’s press briefing and with similar moral cretinousness dismissed the purpose and goal of the Jew-killers at Hyper Casher.

Dunno which is more objectionable, what Whie House Press Secretaries say from time to time, or those who try to make hay out of it like it's not political doublespeak.

If someone on tv news says it in front of a camera it's more disturbing to me than if some political mouthpiece does. One's excusable because that's what they're being told to say, another's coming from their own mind.

Earnst said it in a press conference. Obama made his statement in an interview. It is inexcusable to pretend that the attack on the Hypermarket was akin to drive by shootings in Chicago.

Earnest said it because someone told him to. IMagine it went along the lines of, "If you have a problem saying it we'll find another Press Secretary." He also said it was an anti-semitic attack, so trying to hang the President through a Press Secretary is obviously what you're doing. As with numerous other conservative bashes on the administration it's almost always just thinly veiled attacks on the President because you guys don't like taking orders from a ******. (I read your minds.)

Someone told him to, is right. He is supporting the administration line, which is the issue here. How can Obama and his administration maintain it was a random attack? It was anything but random.

An anti-semitic attack is not random. Nor have I heard the administration claim it was random. What Earnest was trying to do was depict the kosher deli victims themselves, as individuals, as random victims. Not the location in which they were victimized. I and everyone else without a bug up their ass about a black President understood this just fine.

It's well known that is exactly what happened.
If they were Israeli civilians then they were not Israeli soldiers. But even if they were Israeli soldiers that is still an act of terrorism.
