Well, to be fair, Trump won in 2016 and in 2020 he got the second highest vote total in the history of the country.

Except for the fact that third parties never run someone decent, which is why they always lose. But, the main reason that we seem to always have such bad choices is because being president is such a thankless job, only stupid people run, meaning only stupid people can win. No matter who wins, half the country will be at your throat going for your jugular. No sane person would be stupid enough to want that.
