John Locke, the Ninth Amendment and Modern Liberals

So why did Jefferson change Locke's property rights to pursuit of happiness?

Slavery

Got to love the libtards that invalidate all of the founding theories because they owned slaves. Had that evil compromise not been made, how do they think we would have formed a Union at all?

How does telling the truth about something "invalidate" it? Was Benjamin Banneker "invalidating" the "Founding theories" when he wrote this letter to Thomas Jefferson or was he calling him out about his ideals? How about Martin Luther King Jr., was he "invalidating" the "founding theories" or was he calling on them to live up to those theories?

I can't tell you how many modern liberals reject the ideas of the more libertarian minded founding fathers because they owned slaves. Some of them even say the entire Constitution should be thrown away because it was written by slave owners.

Keep in mind that Slavery is Authoritarian at its worst, and it was justified by Progressivism (White Man's Burden), when you lump those two together on the diagram with the existing Capitalist system, you get, fascism.

However, because the original Constitution permitted the fascist institution of slavery, does that mean the entire Constitution is a fascist document?

I can agree with you that those people (who probably don't even call themselves "liberals") would be wrong on BOTH counts.

Yes , slavery was and IS authoritarian, that "peculiar institution" was kept in place by conservatives of the time and fought against by the Liberals of that time.

The Constitution is as far away from fascism as one can get, it is a Liberal, living breathing document (because it can be Amended)! :)
