Judge rules Fulton DA Willis can stay — if Wade steps aside

Yeah the ruling seems backwards, Willis should have been the one to step down. Will be interesting if this creates some drama with Wade going after Willis.
Either way I don't see how McCafe can remain as the judge on the case with his ruling.
Maybe because both the judge and his wife donated to her campaign

The judge is doing a poker move. Rather than me take you or Will off, take yourselves off if you want the case to continue. The judge boxed Fani and Wade into a corner. Either way, neither of them will be on the case. Judge knows both are too arrogant to remove themselves from the case, so the case dies.
Nope. Willis will continue without Wade.

No big deal

And this was rules based on an APPEARANCE of impropriety

She paid Wade back in cash. No withdraw or deposit slips from either party. :auiqs.jpg:

Of course she did.

Small time crooks. Weak game.

That isn't what the Judge said. He clearly points out in the ruling that the "appearance of" is insufficient, it's is on the defendants to show an "actual" conflict as it pertains to their case.
No, he said the appearance of misconduct does not necessarily require the entire District Attorney's office to be disqualified.

He said the appearance is there, and one of them has to go. He left it up to Fani to decide.

Obviously it will be Wade, but it's pretty hard to spin this into a "win" for the DA's office. Her lead prosecutor was just kicked off the case.

He rebuked Willis in no uncertain terms

"This finding is by no means an indication that the Court condones this tremendous lapse in judgment or the unprofessional manner of the District Attorney’s testimony during the evidentiary hearing."

and suggested a gag order may be appropriate for her stunt in the church.

"But it was still legally improper. Providing this type of public comment creates dangerous waters for the District Attorney to wade further into. The time may well have arrived for an order preventing the State from mentioning the case in any public forum to prevent prejudicial pretrial publicity, but that is not the motion presently before the Court."

Sorry, Wingnuts, while she has to fire Nathan Wade, she can stay on the case.

I'm sure Trump will appeal, because delay is all he has.

A Georgia judge ruled Friday that Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis should not be disqualified from prosecuting the racketeering case against former President Donald Trump and several co-defendantswith one major condition.

Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee found the "appearance of impropriety" brought about by Willis' romantic relationship with special prosecutor Nathan Wade should result in either Willis and her office leaving the case or just Wade, who she'd appointed to head the case.

The choice is likely to be an easy one: If Willis were to remove herself, the case would come to a halt, but having Wade leave will ensure the case continues without further delay.
so once again rules for thee but not for me
Just another example of dems can do anything and if a republican spits on a sidewalk they're prosecuted
Fani Willi's has more evidence of rico violation than her defendants.

Once out of dem country she'll lose on appeal
Notice when dems go afte someone the trial isn't held in idaho or utah

This isn't a bad outcome in one respect. The case will continue. But I'm bothered at how the judge has fallen in to the trap of bending over backwards to ensure the case is conducted in a fair way in the eyes of the public.

Just as Garland bent over backwards to give the appearance of fairness in the Biden documents investigation by appointing a Repub. Only to have his efforts blow up in his face when Hur issued a highly politicized report.

Generally, there is far too much difference being given to the Orange Rapist and his specious claims of biased prosecutions.
Hur should be publically embarrassed for his actions... There is a professional way to act which he violated...
If you want to work for the DOJ, you have to be impartial, which means treating everyone equal...

To me Trump has got too much leeway... They are over three years getting Trump into court for election fraud. Sorry but Trump is on the next ballot and voters (the victims in the crime he is indicted) deserve to know if he is guilty of the crime of trying to steal their vote...
Justice delayed is justice denied.

People aren't required to have deposit slips or document withdrawals for their own money in regards to personal expenses.
