I'm not too keen on insurance companies. They represent the worst of what a business can become. However, here is the thing about health insurance that cannot be said about single payer.

You can leave a health insurance company and they cannot force you to stay with them, nor can they force you into a medical choice you do not agree with.

When the government pays, you dance to their puppetmaster. It has always been the case all through life.

Take for instance the single payer system in the UK. They are now forcing parents to keep their child in the country and follow their healthcare rules, under some nonsensical guise that THEY know what's best for the child. An action that would be intolerable to the left if it was an insurance company, is actually defended by many who fear to have to care for themselves.

The following article is just a small taste of what is to come if the US is actually stupid enough to go with single payer.

You can leave them after they deny your claim.

You can leave them after they deny your claim.
You can leave them before they deny your claim.

What you can't do, apparently, is leave your country and seek treatment elsewhere if you're enslaved to a single payer system.

No insurance company will take you to court to keep your child shackled to that country.

There are over 20 trillion reasons why single payer won't happen.

They can do the same under any system and they will if the people do not start demanding to take back and keep their healthcare freedom out of the hands on insurance companies and bureaucrats.
