Documentary on MSNBC tonight concerning the 40% of food the US wastes every year. That's almost half of our food that goes uneaten.

Family farms are being put out of business because of our waste-based economy and 15% of Americans don't get enough to eat.

We can just the tax/fine on the Point of Sale when you buy food that's most likely to be wasted, as determined by a Blue Ribbon Panel of Harvard educated types.

A propose government rations based on size, weight, and amount of exercise for every individual. We should no longer be in control of what we eat by now let's have the government do it cause we're too stupid to decide on our own.

For several generations now, our govt has paid producers to throw away what they produce. They've poured out milk, burned vegetable and more. In addition, consumers don't want to pay for a flawed piece of produce so it gets discarded.

The Koch brother's have fought for and won the practice of throwing away good produce that has flaws instead of giving it to food banks or distributing it to the poor. That means the farmers aren't paid for what they produce even though they pay to produce it.

Throwing away almost half of our food is killing our economy.

I think the Government should pay all Farmers to grow everything, then pay them to throw it all away! Think of all the Family Farms that would save!

I had good insurance before Obamacare. Now I have good and expensive insurance.

This documentary is excellent.

Points out how waste drives up prices, wastes water and other resources, drives families out of their homes.

Also how much we have changed since WWII when wasting food was considered anti-American and against the war effort.

The difference between the "sell by date" and the "expiration date". People think food should be thrown out at the expiration date aka freshness date, best by date, etc.

Socialism is simply collective ownership of the means of production and the economy, nothing else. Food is wasted world wide on a massive scale, and is not distributed properly.
