Kansas Lies to Close Only Voting Place In Dodge City

I assumed moronic bureaucracy.

Of course they are legal voters. The democrats gave them citizenship so they would be able to vote for them. The ones who weren't given one - the illegals - are also invited to vote.

The republican officials in Kansas have closed the one and only voting police in Dodge City and used a lie to do it.

They said that people can't vote at the Civic Center because construction is happening and there's no parking. People suggested to use the public school for voting, that was refused by Kansas but they didn't give a reason why. So they moved the one and only voting place miles outside Dodge City.

Rachel Maddow sent one of her people to Dodge City to check it out.

They got video of the voting place miles outside the city and they got video of the Civic Center that was supposed to be under construction, a mess and no parking.

The video clearly shows the Civic Center is fine, there's no construction, there's no mess and there's tons of parking. The Civic Center has been used as the only voting place in the city for decades. The calendar for the Civic Center shows several events next week.

This is such out and out voter suppression it's disgusting.

Republicans know that they are in a fight for their political lives so what do they do? Fall back on the tried and true preventing likely democratic voters from voting.

This is what republicans are. Cheaters who know that the people don't want them so they prevent as many people from voting as possible to be able to to keep forcing their failed policies on people who don't want them.

Rachel Maddow is very long winded and she drones on and on but if you are like me and don't want to listen to the whole thing just fast forward it to the last half of the video to see the video of Dodge City, the Civic Center and where they now are forcing people to go to vote. Everyone in Dodge City has to vote there. There is no other place for them to cast their vote.

The population of Dodge City KS is approx. 27,000. 32% are below voting age, which leaves 18K eligible to vote. Given voting patterns, less than 50% of these people are likely to vote - or max 9K will vote.

Doesn't sound like a very big deal to have a centralized spot for 9K people to vote.

The average number of voters per polling place in Kansas is 1200.

Dodge City has ONE for 12,000...and it was recently moved OUTSIDE the city limits to a spot in the middle of nowhere...that has no public transit access.

No car...no vote

And guess what?

The civic center that served as the polling place until this year in the middle of town is still OPEN and being used for all sorts of events...other than voting
Dodge City has a 60% hispanic population. Many of those people are poor. Many of them do not have cars.

They have been disenfranchised purposely

And the Republican in charge of all this is running for Governor.

It's 1/2 mile from the city limits. Sounds like they'll pick you up at your house. Everybody's going to get to vote. They've been working with a single polling location for 20 years.

If this is a Democrat city, how do republicans have any say where they vote? If it’s republican why would they suppress their own vote?

When did they move the polling place? Was it because construction has been scheduled for a long time or recently? Could construction have been delayed for any reason?

Kansas has 1 voting place for every 1200 voters in ALL of the State, except Dodge City. In dodge City, which has 13,000 voters has had ONE voting place in town for all of these citizens..... ONE VOTING PLACE in town for ALL of these 13,000 voters.

On top of this, a few weeks ago, all new voters were sent a notice of the voting place they were to vote at 11 miles out of dodge City with the wrong address of the new place.

Dodge City is the ONLY TOWN in all of Kansas that is primarily HISPANIC.

This year, the Secretary of State in Kansas is running for Governor...

The Secretary of State is also in charge of the election process in the State.

and this year they decided NOT to give Dodge City its one voting place, and moved this city's one voting place, 11 miles out of Town.

11 miles out of Dodge City, with NO BUS SERVICE to the new building they are going to have to vote at 11 miles out of town.

Their excuse was that there was construction going on that would prohibit it from being there.... well THERE WAS NO CONSTRUCTION that inhibited them from having their 1 voting place in town. the construction was not on roads or near their parking lot, it was across the street a far distance away, in a lot, not involved even with the Street.
