She is a Christian who defended her Constitutional right to her freedom to follow her faith. She's defending her faith and the Constitution as it was written. The Supreme Court had no right to change the laws of the land - permitting same sex marriage. It was not their place.
Such STUPIDITY.........Davis took an oath which specifically stated that her duties entailed issuing marriage licenses.....She no longer can say that she is just a private citizen and she did NOT campaign for the job stating that she would not perform SOME of her duties.
I have to disagree on the whole bringing up her divorcees as a vehicle to attack her position. She is a saved woman so using her past transgressions against her now is pretty cheap.
But the fact that she issues licenses to other "sinners" without care is fair game.

She must be learning from Obama because just because you take an oath to uphold the constitution and the laws doesn't mean you actually have to once in office. Why aren't immigration laws being enforced?

Since I am a pastor of a southern Baptist church please allow me to weigh in on the case of Kim Davis, the lady in Kentucky who refuses to issue a marriage licenses to a same sex couple.
First: This is not a case of the government forcing anyone to violate their religious belief. She is free to quit her job. If she quits her job to honor God surely God would take care of her.
Second: This is not a case of someone trying to uphold the sanctity of marriage. If she wanted to uphold the sanctity of marriage she should not have been married four different times. If she is worried about her name being affixed to a marriage license that goes against a biblical definition of marriage, she should not have her name on the last three marriage licenses given to her.
Third: This seems to be a case of someone looking to cash in on the religious right. Churches all across the south will throw money at her to come and tell congregations how the evil American government put her in jail because of her faith in Jesus.
This is why we are losing.
This is why people have such disdain for evangelicals.
Not because we disagree but because we don’t take the bible seriously. If ever there was a case of “he who is without sin cast the first stone”, this is it. If ever there was a “take the log out of your eye” moment, this is it.
We must stop looking to the government to make America a Christian utopia. Our kingdom is not of this world.
We must abandon all thoughts of fixing others and let Jesus fix us.
If we want sanctity of marriage then stop cheating, stop having affairs, stop looking at porn, stop getting divorces. That is the way for the church to stand up for the biblical definition of marriage, not by someone martyring their self-righteous self.

Let's be assholes and make it as hard as possible for a religion to practice. Personally, I would pass a law that says Christian churches don't have to pay any taxes at all.

Since her religious beliefs trump the Constitution and the justice system of the U.S. why isn't she appealing to her God to come down and straighten everyone out and tell us she is right?
Why is she appealing to courts that she doesn't even believe have any authority over her?
She should just be telling the judge who put her in jail and the Supreme Court to stick it where the sun don't shine because she is ABOVE our human law.

If we were a nation that upheld our constitution and the law of the land the Supreme Court would never have been able to get away with overruling the will of the people and voting on a law they had no business voting on in the first place.

Since the governor ordered county clerks to begin issuing state marriage licenses to gay couples, her job now includes issuing marriage licenses to gay couples, so she is not doing her job.I think there is an element of democracy that is being denied here. The people of that state elected her into that office to do a job. Now everyone wants to take away her job because they don't think she is doing it right. The last time I checked it is up to the same people that elected her into office to decide that not bitter rivals.
