Several weeks ago I heard someone call in on a radio show mentioning the bible.

The host said something like why use the bible, there is evil in it, and mentioned some of the things that Lot did.

It shows a lack of understanding of the bible.

The bible has good people and bad people. We learn from both. Also the good people aren't perfect either. No one is perfect. We learn from all this.

That's somewhat correct, even regardless of the "pre-monogamy" times - long story short - men are capable of impregnat many women in short period while women can only be pregnant once in a longer period and needs to feed the new borns.
That way the human specie secure the quality of genes to be able to spread in order to survive, and that is why symmetric people and healthy people are more attractive to the opposite gender.
Women are simply designed to live with the more women the man can take care of, so I'm not quite sure about bisexual but let's agree on the part it's women run the world.: D
