One of my various areas of study when I was in school was the rise of the National Socialist movement in Germany. It seemed so easy looking back on it to ask -- "Well, why didn't people confront it in 1923 after the beer hall putsch?" Just think how millions of lives would have been spared had they done so.

Of course, with the benefit of hindsight, that was obvious, but the people of the time kept trading the immediate for the future. They did not wish any bloodshed in the now, and so allowed the cancer to grow.

Forensics should be able to clear that up really easily if that's true.

But I doubt that's the case based on what we know. Rittenhouse can be heard saying "I just killed someone" on his phone call. Simplest explanation at this point is simply that he killed him. Maybe that changes, but I doubt it.
