Leader Of The Republican Party

Do you ever have a rational thought?

Historically a sitting president is considered the leader of his party. The oppositions national commitee chair is supposed to be their leader. It is unfortunate for the GOP that thier "leader" has to appologise to the meadia stars every time he opens his mouth. That makes it questionable he leads anything.

The OP made the claim Rush limbaugh runs the republican party.... So i made the same assumption using one of their talking heads..

get a clue before speaking to me shithead...

You're the dope, not Huggy!!! Did you ever hear of a Dem apologizing to Keith??? Did you ever read an article similar to what I posted?? That Keith is the unofficial leader of the Democratic Party?? What a stupid comparison for you to make. You're the one that needs to get a clue. And you need to hurry.

HUGGy is the forum douchebag closet case...

So you are saying keith is just another idiot? Good then we agree both keith and rush are idiots and neither of them run either party... Unless you just want to be deliberate partisan hack....

Perhaps somebody could explain why somebody is a 'pussy' for apologizing to somebody when they realize they spoke out of context and/or were otherwise wrong?

Does it go against your partisan code to apologize when you step over the line or say something you find out was false? When you falsely accuse somebody?

Is Rush wrong when he does that? And he certainly has on more than one occasion.

Just because you rarely find Democrats apologizing when they are wrong doesn't make those who do 'weak'.

Well, when you understand that a guy with a "news" program that is about as popular as a late night infomercial, is attempting to prop up a president that nobody with anything to lose wants to be seen with, a VP who is making Dan Quayle look like Socrates, a congress that is pushing what has to be the least popular and most socialistic agenda in American history, and an opposition party chairman that is the political equivalent of a Special Olympian, you have to grab the biggest and most recognizable booger man available to demagogue as the "leader of the party", in order to keep your seven regular viewers.

“I’ve got to salute Rush, I’ve never seen a guy on the radio– he doesn’t do television, he has one medium of expression– the voice, he doesn’t put on guests, he has a good golf game, I figure, he’s kept up his tan, he’s got a good lifestyle, congratulations on his marriage, he enjoys his life and with, like, his left hand, he runs the entire Republican Party. Congratulations, until somebody dethrones you, Rushbo, congratulations on ruling an entire political party of dittoheads.”

He had a TV show for a while but failed at it.

He didn't fail at it. For the impossible time slots he had he did very well. But he was unwilling to accommodate the restrictions and requirements to get prime time slots and, being locked out of the more lucrative markets, voluntarily shut down the show. And he has rejected subsequent offers to host one. On the other hand, he can have any slot he wants on almost any radio station he wants and he is so profitable to the stations that feature him that he commands prime time on the #1 station in almost all markets. And there is no other radio program in history that has generated market share like his for the 20+ years he has held the #1 slot.

1) Rush is an entertainer. He has no official position in the Republican party, has never run for any office ever.

2) his highest numbers do not amount to more than 40% of the republican electorate.

3)he can't move votes. In both 2008 and 2010, the candidates he first liked dropped out early, for lack of support.

4) democratic voters think he is a joke and pay no attention

5) and independents seem to think the same way.

'The man has no responsibility and no authority and no real power.

Has party leaded wannabe Limbaugh ever appologised for anything including his notorious drug use?

Yes. He devoted two or three substantial time blocks to explaining and discussing his prescription drug addiction with full acknowledgment that he screwed up.

When it is demonstrated that he had the facts wrong on something, he fully acknowledges that at the earliest opportunity and does apologize, on the air, to anybody he has micharacterized.

He makes no apology for his point of view or his convictions, however, and he can articulate a thorough and reasoned rationale for each one he holds. He also has a superb research team that, while not as good as Beck's, does bring to surface facts and information that would otherwise not be aired. And it is that, along with an enjoyable delivery style for the most part, which keeps his very large audience tuning in and keeps holding their interest.

We owe gratitude to these guys on the radio as well as researchers like Drudge and Breitbart whether or not we agree with their point of view. They are digging out stuff and airing stuff that the mainstream media would never have even known, much less aired, and they keep freedom of information a working concept.

It's amazing how often I hear something on a radio talk show that all of a sudden, often by the next day, is major news when it wasn't even mentioned before.

OK.. I have to admit I have never seen or heard his shows start to finish. Occasionally I will spin the dial and upon recognising his pompus voice I sicken of it in less than a minute and change the station. I get my news from the cspans and public and european news stations. and some internet that I specifically research.

I do listen to Stephanie Miller once in a while cuz she is naughty...what can I say..I'm a sucker for a cute chick that talks dirty:lol:... At night I might tune into Mike Malloy. He is fuckin nutz in an entertaining way. We would both like to kill the same people:lol: ..I don't need to be convinced by a "personality" about anything so for just facts ...the earlier previously mentioned sources are at least honest brokers. I never watch abc, nbc or ms anything.. Maddow or Oberman..they are just too hysterical. Katie Couric is a pawn. Brian whatizname is a little too full of himself also.

I can accept that. Rush gets really tedious for me so I take him in small doses as I do all of them. But I usually do have the radio running in the background while I work, so I usually get at least some parts of each show, and, if the topic is especially interesting, I'll intentionally listen.

Rush has lost market share from the days when he pretty well dominated. As other popular hosts have come onto the scene: Hannity, Beck, Hitchcock, Medved, Ingraham, et al, they have whittled away at some of Rush's audience so he pulls about a 20 share now as compared to a 30+ share that he enjoyed at his peak. But that's good enough to keep him #1 and his name front and center and earning millions every year. :)

And just liking a voice or personality is okay too. There are certain guys and gals that I just like to look at or enjoy their style. For different reasons of course. :)

Errr. the head of the Republican party is a dude named Michael Steel.

Rush is a radio entertainer.

I need to be serious for a second here and ask you to respond to this. Did you not see the head of that party APOLOGIZED to that "radio entertainer"?

Please stay on point....

20 million listeners per day. Mathews looks at the ratings every period, and his heart breaks.
CON$ are pathological liars.

He doesn't even have that many listeners in a week. His weekly cume is a little over 15 mil DOWN from 25 million during Clinton. And a cume counts the audience every quarter hour, so someone who listens to all 3 hours gets counted 12 times. So in reality he has barely 2 million UNIQUE listeners.

It could be a foreign concept to you--I don't know you well enough to say for sure--but where Michael Steele comes from and where Rush Limbaugh comes from, a gentleman apologizes to another gentleman when he has said something that merits an apology. And what Michael Steele said, he regretted, and was man enough to apologize.

That makes him a much better man in my book than one who would call another person a pussy or wimp because he does the right thing.
