Legalize it!

Are you pot heads nuts or is your judgement just clouded? They want to make tobacco use illegal and you think a couple of bucks from taxes makes it OK to sell marijuana to our kids?

Hey stupid..................nobody on this thread has advocated for selling cannabis to kids. Matter of fact, those that want to see it legalized are saying it should be regulated like alcohol.

When was a 21 year old considered to be a "kid"? As far as I know, they are adults and can make the choices that adults are allowed to make for themselves.

Go ahead idiot.......................show where anyone on this thread said it was okay to sell to kids.

No no no...not just kids.

We want to sell it to fetuses still in the womb.

We want it to be illegal NOT to have a joint in your mouth.

Cause that what potheads are like, ya know?

total bullies who foist their values on everybody else.

Surely you must have noticed that by now, right?

Did he quit with no signs of withdrawal?

All I remember is him having a pen in his hand pretty much all the time for about a month...that, and he chewed gum for a while.

I used to smoke about 2 1/2 packs of cigs a day. The minute I picked up an e-cig was the end of tobacco. No withdrawal.

No withdrawal because you are still addicted to nicotine. You cannot quit whenever you want then.

IMO the very same nanny statists who want to ban tobacco use also supports the current draconian drug war.

Legalizing pot will no more keep it out the hand of inquiring kids any more than they don't drink or smoke cigarettes.

You're partially correct. You're correct on the second part of your comment. However, you're incorrect on the first. Most Socialist/Progressive Nanny Staters fully support banning tobacco use. They are a bit dishonest and hypocritical.

Ah but where I'm from most liberals are not nanny-statists, nanny-statists want to stop smoking both tobacco and cannabis.

To be more precise I did quit for about six years. Not seeing any particular benefit to being a non smoker I started again. The "juice" I put in my e-cig has no nicotine. I use 0%. It does have a flavoring agent. I'm using lychee right now. The difference is like the difference between nicorette and trident.

I was wondering why this thread wasnt ever moved to "Health and Lifestyle" just as the thread I posted earlier was?
I'm not being disrespectful of the admin decision to move it (though I do disagree with the reasoning), my question here goes to consistency and how it seems inconsistent logic to allow this thread in politics and not the one I posted.

When it comes to pot you're clearly not seeing the whole picture here. Taxes are just a small part of the "gains". We also:

1.) Waste less public funds on courtrooms/judges
2.) Waste less funds on all of the bureaucracy/paperwork directly resulting from marijuana arrests
4.) Waste less funds on prisoners
5.) Waste less funds on local/federal police officers policing pot
6.) Bring (most) all of the marijuana production $'s that are currently being filtered to CRIMINALS in MEXICO and elsewhere back to the United States, and into the hands of honest hard-working citizens
7.) Generate new $'s and wealth around an exciting new industry with many new possibilities (imagine all of the NEW transportation jobs, website designing, advertising, shops, restaurants, bars, etc).

Just a few bucks? lol.

Taxes are just a tiny part of it. There's absolutely no reason pot should be illegal. The prohibition reasoning is inconsistent and ridiculous; I've never once heard a sound argument.

Use your HEAD!

America legalized "Marihuana" to support our troops during World War II.

America should have legalized "Marihuana" during Vietnam, too. There's still time to legalize it during the war of terror, or maybe we should just legalize it to make equipment for our militarized police in the war on drugs.

Hey Kevin, you should have asked Whitehall if they thought that there were liquor store owners who thought that selling alcohol to minors was a good idea as well.

Most (if not all) of the people who want to see cannabis legalized also agree that it should be available to those who are over the age of 21, and DO NOT support legalization so that kids could get it.

Yeah................I know..................if a substance is legal, generally there are going to be those who are underage who get ahold of it anyway. Cigarettes and alcohol are good examples.

But you know.....................synthetic marijuana (which incidentally has been proven to kill those who ingest it, things like K2 and other types) doesn't have an age limit.

At least if you're smoking home grown (or even hydroponic bud), you're not going to die from ingesting it.

And..................like I said...................those who support legalization also support the concept of it not being allowed to anyone under the legal drinking age.

You should have told Whitehall to fuck off for using hyperbole.

Alcohol prohibition didn't work, and anyone can clearly see that the way we are fighting the (so-called) War on Drugs isn't working, either. We need to either change the way we fight the War on Drugs or concentrate on the really destructive ones while decriminalizing the recreational ones.
Murder prohibition didn't work. Shoplifting prohibitions don't work.

So you pro-legalized murder, pro legal theft?

There is no equivalence between smoking herb and murdering someone.
