Liberals Call Ben Carson ‘token,’ ‘Uncle Tom’ and ‘Oreo’ after CPAC speech

Uh, when you decide to return to reality, get back with me. It's your side that is polling badly. And I have no idea who you're referring to. I only know of President Obama. And if you can't give him the respect due the office, then I can't engage you.

I respect the office, not the man or his ideas, respect is earned it's not an anointment that automatically comes with winning an election. Also I don't address anyone by their job title, when I speak with my congressman, senators or their staff I refer to them as Mr.

Well, actually, "you don't". President Obama, in comparison to his predecessor, has garnered the respect of the world. That you right wingers deny him it, doesn't mean you're justified. I even put aside my objections to George Bush, on 9/12/01...and he betrayed that new-found trust, "in spades".

Why the fuck do people keep saying that. Do you not pay attention to the news?

Are you aware that Iran has accused The US Navy of of trying to start a war?

Are you aware that North Korea has cut off the hotline and actually fired on South Korean territory?

Are you aware that Afghanistan has actually accused us of conspiring with the Taliban?

Get your head out of your ass.

It never fails. The left cannot tolerate any minority who doesn't think the way they believe they should. Think outside of the liberal "groupthink" and you're attacked viciously.

I'd love to see something that contrasts the total number of liberals versus the number of liberals who attacked this "outsider". It's hard to evaluate your claim in the absence of any hard data.

Also. There might be more groupthink on the Right. For instance, when someone on the Right votes incorrectly, they often face a primary challenge funded by groups lead by Koch, Norquist or Rove (to name only a few). Centrist Senators who work with the other side, like Spector, are destroyed. Even McCain was attacked for not toting the party line on things like immigration. McCain, unlike Spector, chose to retreat back to groupthink in order to save his job. Whereas the Left supports many Blue Dogs, all of whom voted against the public option in ObamaCare, and who frequently oppose Obama's platform from the right.

Secondly, the Left opposed a sitting President, LBJ, on his major policy, the Vietnam War. They protested him night and day. They denied him a second term. Can you imagine a powerful movement on the Right which would have stopped the Iraq war and denied Bush a second term? This would never happen because the right is so tightly organized from the top.

I understand where you are coming from (although I disagree with some of it). First, LBJ was not "denied" a second term. He chose not to run again. He was in constant disagreement with the Kennedy's (hell, let's be honest- he HATED Bobby Kennedy) and, after JFK was shot, and Bobby had decided to run, coupled with LBJ's escalation of the Vietnam war, he chose not to seek a full-term.

Next, BOTH parties have a structural command system that requires a "chain-of-command" mentality. Nothing unusual about that whether it be those names mentioned or George Soros - each are "puppet masters" in their own right.

Here (in my personal opinion) is the crux of the matter.

Politics have changed dramatically since the 60s, 70s. Back then, there was usually an attempt made to "get along" with either party. In those days it was figured that "We are working for America - not the "party"".

Around the time of Bill Clinton and his policy of "scorched earth", things changed and they changed dramatically. Suddenly there was little to no concern for the question of "Are we helping the country" and instead, it became, "What can we do to DESTROY the other party". It has been "hand-to-hand" combat since then.

Politicians are so damned busy with their BS "party fights" that they have ALL let the situation get completely out of hand to the point of where we are now hearing that a "17 TRILLION DOLLAR DEFICIT is no big deal" as opposed to a budget surplus that we either had, or didn't have (according to whom you believe).

This country is following the same path that Rome followed. Only STUPID politicians believe that we won't suffer the same fate as Rome.

It never fails. The left cannot tolerate any minority who doesn't think the way they believe they should. Think outside of the liberal "groupthink" and you're attacked viciously.

Herman Cain was called names for daring to be a successful conservative who didn't rely on government programs to climb his way to the top. Now, just because Ben Carson was bold enough to speak honestly at the dinner in front of Obama, he's being called the same names.

Why is it that the left cannot accept that people don't fit neatly into groups and they don't automatically share the same mindset as others in the group that liberals put them in? The left is wrong to group people to start with and they make it worse when they assume how people will think based on their skin color. Their actions are the very definition of racism.

And they cannot accept that Republicans are more interested in people's minds than skin color. Whenever the left sees a minority openly agreeing with the right, they start the name calling with the usual idiotic labels, like; token black, puppet, Uncle Tom and other nasty things not worth repeating. And it's all because the left doesn't believe that minorities can think for themselves and can actually disagree with liberals. I guess the lesson here for liberals is that they can't brainwash everyone with their programs that promote class and race warfare and not all minorities are interested in a big nanny government.

Some people, of all classes and races, understand that they are capable of achieving more for themselves than any politician can. The liberals don't get it. They don't understand people who believe in personal responsibility and who refuse to subscribe to the notion that they are all born into victimhood and need to be rescued.

Liberals need to get over it already and start treating people like individuals and not as members of a group who are supposed to share a brain.

This morning at the Conservative Political Action Conference, Dr. Ben Carson mentioned the “nastygrams” he received after he spoke at the National Prayer Breakfast. He said some of his oh-so-tolerant admirers lobbed the N-word at him for “insulting” President Obama.
“When did we reach a point where you have to have a certain philosophy because of the color of your skin?” he asked?

Would it be fair if liberals only call this guy the kind of names, with the same level of class and decency,

that the right has been using on President Obama for years?

...if we were to have a laugh at a picture of Ben Carson in witch doctor garb, would that be fair?

...if we were to have a laugh at a picture of a watermelon patch on Carson's front yard, would that be okay?

...you know, that sort of thing, things that the Right does all the time.

You might be a racist if you are outraged by pictures of Obama dressed up as a witch doctor but are not outraged by pictures of Bush dressed up like a witch doctor.

You might be a racist if you are outraged by pictures of Obama as a monkey, but not outraged by pictures of Bush as a monkey, you might be a racist.

I will flat out guarantee that anything you find racist when it is done to Obama has been done to Bush. If that doesn't make you think you are fuck bag lying sack of shit hypocrite I know you are a racist.

Yea he can really give it to the Blacks cant he. You really like him. But he said nothing to the many racist in attendance like the guy who said slaves should have been greatful.

Why are you people trying to use this guy's color to shield him from criticism?

That's racist itself.

Who is protecting him because of his skin color? Why isn't it racist when you protect Obama because of his skin color? Is it good racism to protect Democrats, but bad racism to protect Republicans?

When that black politician said he got called the N-word and spit at during the Obamacare passing, RW'ers didnt believe him, said he made it up. Now, Carson says he got nasty grams, and they take is as gospel.

Guys....you gotta decide are you gonna take people's word, or not?

We said that because there was video of the incident, and it clearly showed he was wrong. Feel free to provide evidence that this didn't happen either and I will be right there with you calling him on it. Until you do, I will give him the same degree of credibility I gave Cleaver before I saw the video.

We're to take his word that he received those comments or emails?

True.

And what evidence is there that the emails are from ‘liberals’?

What evidence is there that these persons speak for all ‘liberals’?

Clearly conservatives need to start treating people like individuals and not as members of a group who are supposed to share a brain.
The same people who say they are not racists parading their tokens also say they don't see groups, but only see everyone as individual human beings, so they can always be taken at their word! :eusa_liar:

Here we go with the "Uncle Tom" slur. The racist liberals always play that card to try and destroy any black who isn't a welfare-advocating, black panther loving, communist. You guys are so predictable and consistent.

Do these racist liberals play that card because the "black" is black or because he is a nutjob "conservative"? Hmmmmm?

You meant to say "black man" or "black woman" or "black American" or "black person", right? You didn't purposefully leave out a descriptor that indicates that the subject is human, did ya?

What?

We're to take his word that he received those comments or emails?

If he were a Socialist claiming someone from the tea party made those comments you'd take his word.

Angry activists who had gathered outside the Capitol to protest health care reform Saturday yelled "******" at a few members of the Congressional Black Caucus, including civil rights icon Rep. John Lewis from Georgia.

Protesters also spat on at least one black lawmaker, and the most high-profile openly gay lawmaker, Rep Barney Frank, was apparently called a "faggot." Rep Emanuel Cleaver said he was spat upon while walking toward the Capitol. Police arrested the assailant, but Cleaver decided not to press charges.

Crying about 'uncle Tom' slurs every time a black conservative gets some publicity is a device to try to deflect criticism of the man by portraying him as a victim of racism, aka playing the race card. Aka victimology.

The truth, has, does, and will set the captives free. And if Ben Carson puts himself on the wrong side of ideology or history, then let him reap the whirlwind, and stop whining. Men don't whine.

Then if what you claim is true, why do you put this man down? Isn't Dr. Carson as free as you are to think for himself? Hmm..., the "Tolerance Brigade" now os the "INtolerance Brigade" same as the KKK 21st century style.

The truth might set you free, but you fail to reach out and grasp it. The acceptance of any idiotolgy that presupposes that a dark skin color requires a certain pattern of thought and or action, is the same as saying you have no right to think or act for yourself. Those white boys that like you are perfectly capable of doing your thinking for you.

Ben Carson doesn't give a damn what you think of him. He is a big boy, well educated and highly skilled as a doctor. He figures he can do his own thinking.

However, I would bet dollars to doughnuts, that most of his distractors from the left wing are more upset by the fact that he does not consider himself a victum, than they are about his political views. Blows the hell out of their political model.
