Lincoln Chafee was the democrat party's poster boy for what it means to be a "moderate republican". Today he probably surprised nobody when he made the announcement that the would switch parties and run as a democrat.

He left republicans long ago. He could be no more than an IINO. Independent in name only.

Won't help Chafee, as he'll lose in the Democratic primary.

There are several unpopular Republican governors trying to get re-elected, some of them in blue states. So while the Republicans will gain a few senate seats in 2014, the Democrats will be gaining with state governors. Rhode Island will be just one Democratic pickup.

Chafee is not a Republican. He is an independent.

Anyone wonder how crazy it can get on the radical left? Look no further than the words "jesus jackoff" .

We are going to see more of this kind of switch if the GOP continues it drift into the netherlands of rightwingnut crazies. We have already seen the switch on the part of many of the people that at one time voted Republican. But go ahead and tell them they are not needed.
