There were other factors involved such as safer cars but in one year's time, we had 4,000 fewer deaths.....all by slowing down. That it is impossible to prove a negative (i.e. find evidence for something that didn't happen), who knows how many mentally ill people were stopped from getting pistols due to background checks that gave you or me those celebrations?

That we should have no laws at all because they're not 100% successful is borderline insanity.

Problem being.......most mass shootings in America and the reasons behind most of these regulations are actually done in a school setting by teenagers that can't buy a gun with or without background checks and get their guns from their parents or other family members that have passed all background checks and of legal age. Any more gun regulation isn't going to stop this from happening.
The other contributors to mass shootings are by people that have passed all checks and still chose to kill, as in San Bernadino. So tell me again how more regulations & restrictions are supposed to stop that from happening?
