Again Putin is pushing Ukraine into NATO unless he conquers and controls Ukraine.

Taking the country is the easy part

The hard part is occupying an entire country when they dont want you there. We were not treated as Liberators
In Afghanistan, we held the cities while the Taliban controlled the countryside.
Same will happen to Russia in Ukraine.

The US economy could sustain a 20 year occupation

Same thing happened to the Soviet economy in Afghanistan

Any country that has the red button needs to be dealt with caution. Especially when the leader may have mental stability issues which is what people suspect of Putin now.
