Long-predicted consumer pullback finally hits restaurants

I live in Illinois, I cannot see the border from here.

But the border has never been closed, neither party has a vested interest in doing so

Nope, have not seen a one. Can you tell me what they look like so I can be on the look out for them. Would not be hard to spot in my little village of 8k
 
The diner was almost full today, but it seemed more than full with loud talkers. It sounded more like a rowdy bar than a breakfast diner. That could explain a drop in restaurant business. Restaurants becoming less pleasant as more customers become loud and rude could lose the quieter customers. Another diner recently reduced its hours.
 
I was out last Saturday with my wife and daughter and the restaurants were dead.

Weird, went out last Friday with my wife and had an hour wait since we did not make a reservation

Life must suck where you are living.
