Actually, her strategy was to get the race down to herself and Vallas, and then hope that the coalition of blacks, Hispanics and progressive whites would unite behind her when they realized how regressive Vallas is.

Not necessarily a bad strategy, because she concentrated all of her firepower on Chuy Garcia in the primaries. Brandon Johnson coming in second was the big surprise, because most polls had him in third place.
