Ironically, raising taxes will put a damper on inflation IF the government would use it to retire debt instead of handing out Other People's Money. Fat chance of that happening.

It's a horrible idea. If the government wants to stop inflation the government needs to cut spending, not raise taxes. Alternatively, the historical solution to inflation is to raise the cost of money (aka interest rates).
