Last night at the Democrat National Convention one of the hostages held by Hamas, specifically Herch Goldberg-Polin's parents Jon and Rachel spoke about their ordeal and it was moving Hersh was a nice young man who was living a promising life and on October 7th was taken hostage and during the abduction had part of his arm blown off by a Hamas grenade and Jon and Rachel are behaving like any ordinary parents they are heartbroken over this and the 320 day length of his captivity and just want their son back! Like the vast majority of Americans and people throughout the world following this we just want the cease-fire deal offered publicly as a path forward to be agreed upon then implemented and see all the hostages returned home. As an ordinary person watching the news and seeing how wily and opportunistic Hamas is it makes one think don't get ones hopes up that this cease-fire deal will be reached soon.

I started thinking how could the lead countries negotiating the deal get some leverage over Hamas to strike a deal like the one currently on the table. I thought about the following idea, it is a little complicated and intricate especially in explaining it but when you here the whole idea I think you might think it has merit! First off the Gaza strip isn't some gigantic city it is twenty-five miles by six miles, the Gaza Palestinians would not be removed far so they shouldn't have great fear they won't be able to return they would be moved to the outer perimeter of Gaza and live in camps run by the international community the Israeli government would have to turn over like two to three miles or so of land around the perimeter of Gaza to provide room to build the camps. The problem with just checking Gaza section by section for the hosages is that the tunnel system under Gaza would allow Hamas to surreptitiously move the hostages into sections of Gaza already checked it would be like a whack a mole scenario you would never locate the hostages. The essence of the idea is empty Gaza of the entire poplulation but in a manner that insures the Palestinians can return to Gaza; screen this removed population for the hostages and after the various sections in Gaza are empty search that respective section for hostages.

Four big initial elements of the deal would include: First, the Israel government would have to agree to remove all Israel Defense Forces and Israeli security forces out of Gaza and stay our of Gaza until the entire operation is concluded and the Gaza civilians have returned to their homes in Gaza and this is a vital part of the deal that Israel would know that the International community especially the United States would back this up with military power; the U. S. would put a fifteen thousand soldier invasion force in Egypt and put squadrons of U.S. fighter planes in Egypt and Jordan and put a lot of ships in the Red Sea and the Mediterran Sea with an intimidating amount of cruise missile power plus the clear and keep secure operation would begin on the western border of Gaza as those sections are cleared tank units from international forces would be installed in those areas to act as asecurity barrier practically at least a slow down barrier and once these units are installed flip to eastern side of Gaza and clear and secure those sections so that howitzer gun units could be placed there so that these artillery units would be able to provide an impenetrable artillery barrier to shield Gaza from being successfully invaded by IDF forces. This point is of critical importance for there is a large part of the Israel population that would like no better than physically remove all Palestinian civilians from Gaza and prohibit them from returning and settle Gaza entirely with Israeli Jews so there is no more Gaza problem for the Israeli people and considering the pro-Israeli lobby is enormously powerful in America which during this operation would be working hard to change things so the Palestinians could not return to Gaza so on paper, in America's public statement and in her actions she must not betray the Palestinian people here and move this operation expeditiously so Palestinian civilians will be returned to their homes in Gaza.

Secondly, the Israeli government needs to agree to give this two to three mile extended perimeter to build the temporary camps. Thirdly, Israel needs to agree to open up as many border crossings the international community to support the operation. Fourthly, Israel needs to agree not to bomb Gaza cause they may kill international forces, America will agree to try to bomb any Hamas or Islamic Jihad rocket or missile gangs.

The idea would be to voluntarily empty and if need be by force empty Gaza into the camps section by section. The removed Palestinians would be screened to see if there hostages by DNA for the hostages may be drugged to behave as Palestinians or coerced by threat to kill fellow hosages if they don't act like Palestinian civilians. The DNA of the hostages should be identifiable, one can even get close enough DNA from hostage family members. Authorities know they can exclude all children from DNA testing and old women because no hostage known to be alive is in this demographia group. Just use a cotton swab to the inside of the cheek and rapid DNA testing all done by computer these results take two hours hold the tested groups in temporary holding cells, once they are checked they can be released into the camps.

Vacating and clearing each section would be done by U.S. military units if an allied country had the military capacity to do this mission they would be assigned sections. Of course this would include fighting and killing Hamas fighters. The difference is that there is not going to be any civilians for the Hamas fighters to blend into to use as hide outs or to use as shields for the civilians will be vacated. U.S. forces could get innovative use hydraulic arm jack hammer construction equipment to punch holes in sides of buildings and on roofs and using ladder trucks insert troops to search buildings for hostages and Hamas fighters. After surface areas and structures are searched if technology exist to locate tunnels in the sector do so if not use the technology that energy companies use to lay pipes under structures horizontal drilling and if need be lay clear plastic pipes where so robots with cameras can be sent through the pipes to look for found tunnels. Check discovered tunnels with drones for hostages and Hamas fighters and then blow up the respective tunnel. Once a sector is vacated and cleared it should be desolate of Palestinian life so turn it over to the military unit of one of the participating international partners to patrol and insure Hamas don't move in for the entire balance of the operation.

All Hamas and Islamic Jihad fighters captured during the fighting would be turned over to Israeli security forces all suspicious persons found fleeing or leaving an area or structure being searched by U.S. soldiers an area or building believed to be vacated of Palestinian civilians will be detained and checked against any identification information provided by Israeli Security Forces for terrorists (Hamas, etc.) if a positive identification is found such individuals will be turned over to Israeli Defense Forces. After the entire Gaza Strip is searched this way unless the Israel government has entered into an agreement with the Palestinians for the governance and operation of Gaza by nonHamas, nonterrorist Palestinian civilians this Gaza Strip territory will be turned over to the Israeli government immediately after the Palestinian civilians in the Gaza camps have been given the opportunity and the ability to return to their homes in Gaza. Presented with this plan B for the countries whose citizens are held hostage by Hamas in Gaza, Hamas would be better off agreeing to the cease fire deal on the table so these countries could see the hostages brought home!
